Engineering and Physical Sciences
Up to 100 senior academics
Great thinking got us where we are today. We have no fewer than 25 Nobel Prize winners among our current and former staff, students and alumni. We are on track to enter the top 25 universities in the world by 2020. Yet, we’re still searching for answers to some of the greatest questions facing the human race. That’s why we need more exceptional academics to join us – in science, humanities, engineering, life sciences and medicine. With a £1 billion investment in people and facilities – you’ll have everything you need to make your biggest breakthrough yet.
The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences is one of the largest in the UK and brings together nine highly rated Schools, each with a powerful reputation for teaching and research success. These Schools promote a collaborative approach that continues to raise our high teaching and learning profiles.
Research centres and collaboration
Within the Faculty, we have over 70 specialist research centres and groups, performing research in fields such as:
Closer to home, several of the Schools in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences are actively engaged with The Athena SWAN Charter, which is a scheme that recognises excellence in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) employment in higher education. We already hold two Silver Athena SWAN awards and have a further five awards in the pipeline.
