This technique is used to measure the discharge or flow for tube well or pipe sections. It is very simple and easy method to measure. It has basic three essential requirements for discharge determination.
Inside diameter of the pipe
Measurement of X-coordinate of flow ( horizontal distance measured from the end of the pipe)
Measurement of Y-coordinate of flow (vertical distance measured down from the horizontal point to the top of the water jet.)

Case A: for full flowing Pipe



 
 
  Q = 0.0174 D X / Y
Where 
  Q = lps (liter per second)
  D = Inside diameter of the pipe (in centimeter)
  X = X-coordinate (cm)
  Y = Y-coordinate (cm)

Do you have equations in English units and do they work with embalming fluid?

 
What units is Q in?  What is variable Z used for?  Does the slope of the pipe not need to be considered?  What is Y measuring?  At first I thought it was measuring to the water surface elevation of the receiving basin.  But that wouldn't make sense since a higher or lower drop would affect the Q per this formula, which it should not.  So, I am assuming Y is measured from the outside "Begin Curve" to the "End Curve" of the water projection?
