The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System is a deep draft waterway extending 3,700 km (2,340 miles) from the Atlantic Ocean to the head of the Great Lakes, in the heart of North America. The St. Lawrence Seaway portion of the System extends from Montreal to mid-Lake Erie. Ranked as one of the outstanding engineering feats of the twentieth century, the St. Lawrence Seaway includes 13 Canadian and 2 U.S. locks. They are looking for their Manager, Automation and Electrical Systems for their facility in Brossard.
Job description
Rattaché(e) au Vice-Président Ingénierie & Technologie, votre rôle sera de :
1. Traduire les objectifs stratégiques en décisions managériales, en priorités et tâches au sein de son département
2. Gérer la bonne répartition des ressources humaines, financières et matérielles pour obtenir une performance optimale de son service en termes de sécurité et de productivité.
3. Orienter son équipe pour l'atteinte des objectifs du service.
4. Travailler dans le respect des règles légales, des accords contractuels et de la politique interne de la Corporation.
5. Favoriser et développer une communication efficace, des relations de travail efficaces à l'intérieur et en dehors du département et faire en sorte de renforcer l'engagement de son équipe dans la mission de la Corporation.
6. Fournir du leadership technique et donner du support dans votre aire d'expertise
7. Mettre en place des améliorations techniques et des projets basés sur les standards et les bonnes pratiques de l'industrie.
8. Effectuer des analyses techniques, concevoir et développer de nouveaux programmes ou projets
9. Augmenter la collaboration et le partage des ressources avec les autres disciplines et départements
10. Mener et accompagner le changement en développant le travail d'équipe et la collaboration au sein de la Corporation
1. In collaboration with other departments and/or regions, translates strategic and business needs (mission) into management decisions, practices, priorities and work assignments of his/her department;
2. Manages the appropriate allocation of resources - human, financial and physical assets.
3. Leads and coaches personnel towards the achievement of objectives - of either those of the Corporation, region or unit;
4. Respects and works within the boundaries of legislative requirements, contractual agreements, resource allocation and the policies, procedures or standards of the SLSMC
5. Fosters effective communications, positive working relationships within and outside of the work unit, and seeks ongoing commitment to the Corporation's vision and long term sustainability
6. Provides leadership, support decisions within his/her area of expertise
7. Establishes and leads the implementation of technical improvements, programs
8.Carries out technical analysis, conceptual design
9.Collaborates and shares resources or knowledge with other disciplines/departments
10.Leads change through collaboration and team work across the Corporation
Who we are looking for
- Bac en Ingénierie Electrique avec au moins huit ans d'expérience pertinente
- 5 ans d'expérience comme Gestionnaire d'une équipe technique
- Membre de l'OIQ
- Forte expérience en Gestion de Projets
- Posséder un haut niveau d'expertise technique, une capacité à mettre en place une culture d'amélioration continue tout en maintenant un haut niveau de performance
- Démontrer de vraies capacités de leader
- Faire preuve de fortes capacités d'Organisation, de Planification et de Suivi
- Etre excellent dans la gestion d'équipe
- Bilingue Français / Anglais
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering with at least 8 years related experience
- 5 years of experience leading an engineering/technical team
- Licenced P. Eng and/or member of the OIQ
- Strong project management experience
- Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of performance;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities;
- Strong planning, organizational and follow-up skill;
- Excellent people management skill;
- Bilingualism essential (French/English) fluent
