Can someone explain the solution for problem below?

Design a full wave rectifier power supply that has an input of 120 Vrms, 60 HZ and required a max voltage output of 17 V and a min. output of 12V. the power supply will provide power to an electronic circuit that requires a constant current of 1A. Determine the winding ratio and capacitor size assumeing the diodes and transformer are ideal.

Vin = (120 Vrms)X sqr root 2 = 170 v

2a = 170/17 = 10

a = 5 ratio 5:1

Worse case:

RL = 12/1 = 12 ohm

C = 17 / (5X20X60X12) = 2.36 uf

Question: why do we use 2a for the ratio. the formula for the transformer ratio is (V1 / v2 ) = (N1 / N2) = a
