    Design Build Bridging Documents

Thanks @bwin12 ! I really appreciate the clarification and your experience/input on this. Very helpful. FYI I have come across the term bridging documents when referring to the preliminary design and specification to meet given to the DB team to start the design. PDR is preliminary design...

    Design Build Bridging Documents

Can some one help to explain the design build process a little better as this is new to me. My understanding is initially a preliminary (or conceptual design) is completed (about 30% design). Is this considered the bridging documents? Is a PDR typically included? Then a contractor will complete...

    September 2020 Exam Results

@Jbray241I did get a congrats email yesterday, but it was only after my license showed up on the DCA site last week.  It looks like they processed a lot of licenses last Friday so maybe they didn't get to them all. I assume the next batch will be on 11/6/20 since they process them every other...

    September 2020 Exam Results

Passed Seismic!!!! 😂 This was the last missing piece, can't wait to add those two letters to my name! To everyone still studying, I learned the material best by doing tons of practice problems and practice tests.  When I did surveying I found Mansour's books and practice tests to be helpful...

Can you take Ca Seismic and Surveying overseas

I lived in England for the last few years and had to wait till I was back this year...  If you can, plan to take your test on a date that you will be back in the US. Prometric offers the test almost every day if you plan in advance.

Do you need a bankers box for notes

I just took the exam last week and I had a bankers box. But there was another person at prometric, that I overheard was taking one of the one the civil exams, and he just had a backpack. I didn't see what happened but I assume they let him carry his couple books in with him since he was having...

    Prometric CBT Centers Temporarily Closed

This is so strange because on Friday (April 24th) I changed my exam to May 30th over the phone with Prometric. I go the confirmation email and everything on Friday.  And I'm just now seeing the notice that all tests centers will be closed through May 31st... So far it hasn't been cancelled...

    Prometric CBT Centers Temporarily Closed

Good point, I would probably rather wait till early Q3 so I can reapply for Q4 if June becomes the only option.  I'm not going to bother setting any dates for now.. seems too up in the air. I work for a City here in California and they are estimating we will be working from home likely until...

    Prometric CBT Centers Temporarily Closed

I was scheduled to take the seismic exam on March 21st, still haven't heard anything about a reschedule. I would be surprised it they allow us to test in April though since we are supposed to peak in covid cases at the end of April here in CA.. I assume I will be taking it in June now...

CA surveying exam results January 2020

I passed the surveying exam on my second attempt last month. This time around I bought the mansour course. To anyone considering it, I highly recommend his books but not his videos. The videos are very slow and there isn't any editing, so he spends a lot of time waiting around and talking to his...

2020 CBC changes for Seismic Exam

I came across these links which should answer your questions. Hope they help. https://www.ci.east-palo-alto.ca.us/Archive/ViewFile/Item/509 https://www.ci.independence.mo.us/userdocs/ComDev/2018 INTL BUILDING CODE.pdf...

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

The Hiner book has a list of definitions in appendix. I assume you are looking for something more thorough though; in which case idk. -------- On a side note I have access to ASCE 7-16 and the 2018 IBC on pdf. However it is crazy long to print these. Does anyone know what sections are relevant...
