    NCEES Review Work Requirement

Initial review period took about a week. Resubmitted the next year with updated experience and it took a day.

    PE Application - Texas

    about a month or so.

PE Exam Prep vs. Grad School

Curriculum wise it seems to vary by class... I took a power systems protection class and it was quite basic and I took a power system stability class that was very complex... I'd say if you stick to the 800 level classes you'll get quite a bit of insite on things even after 10 years in industry.

PE Exam Prep vs. Grad School

I'm currently finishing up the program at Kansas State. I've had a pretty good experience and would say it's worth the money I'm paying for it (which is nothing due to company reimbursement) But in all seriousness they have been great to work with and have been very accommodating of my work...

    PE Application - Texas

I didn't get a reply from my reviewer for about a month, but I also sent an email to the board with a question and it took just about as long to get a reply so I'd guess the board gets bogged down with emails around test time.

    PE Application - Texas

it took me a day after admin review... many on here have confirmed that it's usually no longer than 3 business days. The longest wait is definitely over though.

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

yeah a coworker of mine applied for a Michigan license on a Tuesday and was licensed by the next Monday via NCEES. It shouldn't be long after that first one, everything is bigger in the proud country of Texas... including the wait times.

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

first off I would not transmit to all 50 states at once that would cost $3,775. Not even counting the registration fees for each state. That being said getting a license by comity using the council record will vary state to state. Mostly though it should be in the ballpark of a few weeks tops...

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

It took me around 10 days to get everything reviewed by NCEES.

    Protection/NEC

If you're asked to size a breaker I would see that strictly as an NEC question. They typically will say "in accordance with the 20XX NEC" though so that should help. The only way I see them asking for the size of a breaker and it being a protection question is if they give you several sizes of...

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

weeeeeeelllllllllllllll that's a different story... my reviewer had some sort of delay that didn't seem to be related to my application method... not sure what happened but yeah all said and done it was a 9 week process. Probably 7-8 of them were on the TBPE side.

    PENNSYLVANIA IS OUT

not sure if it's worse but Kansas has 3.2 beer in grocery and convenience stores... which is really just taunting us. I'd rather it not be there at all than have to look at the sad shell of greatness that is 3.2 beer.

    PE Application - Texas

I applied through the NCEES, took about a week or so for NCEES to approve my experience and verify my degree. I'd say as far as working without a PE, as long as you have someone licensed to verify that experience you should be fine. I would say if you are planning on getting future licenses (I...

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

also, it made it much easier on all of my references since they could just go in and answer 3 questions and submit my referal in less than 5 minutes.

TX PE - Apply through NCEES or through

I applied via the NCEES council record for initial license... I found it to be very easy. I think that it simplified the SER process, I was worried about what to write on that and the word limit on NCEES forced me to be concise and just hit the highlights of my career. I'd recommend the NCEES...

    Home brew Beer

yeah I can't recommend highly enough the need for pitching a whole bunch of healthy yeast (I make a starter for every batch I do regardless of gravity) and pure O2 when pitching... I have never had an issue with a beer not finishing out and most all fermentation flaws went away as well.

    Home brew Beer

Ahh true, british pale might be very forgiving of your temp constraints then... I've heard of people making kolschs up to high 60s before and they claim that they taste just fine... never done it myself though

Kolsh is always a go-to in the summer for me. that or a bitter or some sort

Just finished the April 2018 PE Exam

What I mean is that they have currently licensed PEs that the exam to help determine the relative difficulty of the exam, and I would imagine that they are given some advanced notice that they will be taking the exam. All I'm getting at it if you thought the test was overly difficult, and...

Just finished the April 2018 PE Exam

My favorite comment was that PEs today wouldn't pass the 4/13 exam... FYI Current PEs performance on the 4/13 exam is a big part of setting the cut score...
