    PE Certificate Frame w/Pencil

My cubicle walls were like 18" high. LOL. I had no choice but to prop against the walls. I've since moved into an office and will have it hung up properly. :)

Same here. I just propped it in a corner of the cube up against the two cube walls. Looks good to me.

2nd time taker... What should be the study plan for the next three weeks?

I was a two time test taker as well. I reviewed my weak areas and worked those types of problems the most, but I also kept my strong areas fresh. For me, working on timing and organization of the references was key. To be honest, I never felt like I was solid and totally prepared. I felt kind of...

    PE Certificate Frame w/Pencil

Just picked mine up from Hobby Lobby. $130. I think it came out really nice. There's a more expensive glass option that doesn't glare like this, but I'm happy with this one.

    MEP engineering mentors

Good day, everyone.  I'm checking to see if there are any mechanical P.E.'s out there that have ever been mentored/trained on a part-time basis to learn a new engineering skill set. I'm particularly interested in learning and gaining working knowledge in MEP engineering, but I'd want to do it...

    Late Bloomer Questions

Long read below. I agree with what was said above. For me, I'd been out of school for 8 years. I have a spouse and two children as well. I took the Testmasters course in Houston (Mechanical Thermal Fluids). It was definitely worth it because it gave me direction and path to study. It is...

    Texas PE- Post PE Exam

Yes. I had a civil P.E. reference review and sign my SER without any issues. Of course it’s up to that person to sign off for you.

Annealing of an old ASME coded pressure vessel

Vessel is 12 yrs old. The records I can find on the vessel do not indicate any type of heat treating performed at time of fabrication. I also found that it was previously in H2S gas service prior to now (we rent compressor packages that service different applications). Is there an industry...

What are your thoughts on this? MA Gas explosion, no PE

I'd say improper lock out/tag out as well in this case. Scary situation.

Annealing of an old ASME coded pressure vessel

Does anyone have experience in heat treating of carbon steel pressure vessels? I've run into a situation where we've found high hardness on an old vessel (266 BHN) going into an H2S application (up to 10,000 ppm). Our standards specify an upper limit of 235 BHN on process piping and vessels. I...

Louisiana State PE Exam Approval April 2019

That's what I'm saying. I'd register for the exam regardless of if you got the "approval" notice from LAPELS. If the exam is decoupled from experience, then you don't need LAPELS approval for the exam. It's run through NCEES.

Louisiana State PE Exam Approval April 2019

May want to check me on this, but I believe Louisiana decoupled the exam from the experience requirement a few years back. When I was living there, I worked with new grads who had taken the PE exam but were waiting on their experience to complete the licensing process. Texas also has done this...

Yeah. I printed it from the email as well. Got everything ordered. Just waiting for it to come in to complete the form. Thanks. Still feels weird this process is coming to an end. It's only been a year in the making for me! Haha. Feel like I should be gearing up to study again for April.

    Application Question - Work Engagements

I’m not certain how California works, but for Texas, I put progressive engineering experience over the course of my time in industry. Like you, I’ve been at the same company, but I’ve held different roles from applications engineering to project engineering. In each role, I progressed in title...

    PE Exam Rescore

Don’t waste the money. I did it last cycle as I missed what I think was the passing score by one point. They quickly responded stating my score was correct after a manual review.

So we've got the notice via email from TBPE and have our license number. We're in the TBPE PE roster listed as active. Has anyone ordered their stamps yet? If so, did you use the name they addressed you as in the email? I'm not sure if we should use middle initial or not. The notification email...
