    HVAC Test Taking Strategy

I did that strategy during the test (MD&M) and passed on my first time. The 1 questions will be very clear to you. You will read it and know immediately what needs to be done to solve. The 3s are also very clear - the topics seem foreign/very challenging and you do not have an immediate way...

Failed Mechanical MDM Multiple Times...Could use some advice...

Not nearly as much as I could have spent studying but I remembered a lot of it from college. I didn't count hours but I'd be surprised if it was over 150 hours.

Fellow Engineers, who have passed the PE exam, can you suggest me what you did different to pass the exam?

I have the blue version (never used the orange one) but there was not any thermo-fluids in it. All the information was relevant to the new PE updated exam 2017. I can't compare the practice problems because I haven't used the orange version!

Failed Mechanical MDM Multiple Times...Could use some advice...

I watched every single one of Dr Tom's videos (one is located here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4QIALcL5f0&t=1s ) and took screenshots of his work which I printed out and put in a binder and I referenced that more than once during the PE exam so it really helped me and it was worth my...

Anyone here planning to take PE machine design in April 2018

I passed MDM this October 2017! I have PDFs of material I found useful that I'm happy to share in a secure file transfer -- google drive? Other methods? You'd then print it out and put it in a binder.

Need serious help in examining my exam techniques to pass PE Mechanical Machine Design Exam.

It was my first time taking the MDM - no idea if I passed but I brought way more than just the MERM to the exam. I brought lots of textbooks and practice problems. On the PE exam, about 75% of questions or more had similar concepts to that in which I studied. Not to say I got those 75% of...

    OCTOBER 2017 PE EXAM

I'm just thankful I wasn't kicked out for doing something like standing up too early. He must've had some sort of military background or something. Or if not, he should be in the military

Feel good about how you did on the exam?

Log into My NCEES account and under the "general" category, select "submit a support request." I submitted one on 10/27/17 right after the exam and received a response back on 10/30/17.

    OCTOBER 2017 PE EXAM

This past Friday, I took MDM. Morning for me was easier than afternoon (blindly guessed on about 3-4 questions). Afternoon exam I think I had more time management issues, or perhaps the questions were harder, and I wound up guessing on about 5 of the problems (some were educated guesses). Even...

New PE MD&M NCEES Specifications (starting Apr '17)?

I have signed up for the October 2017 Mechanical engineering PE exam for machine design and materials and I am about to start my studies. I have viewed the new NCEES exam specifications (starting April 2017) and it does NOT include thermo/HVAC. Should I be skipping these types of questions from...
