How did it go - Construction PM Module?

i didnt even look at the construction module (took transpo) but they must have really re-worked this exam. a co-worker of mine took it last April and hadn't even planned on taking it - he had actually studied for transportation but when he got to the test he flipped it open and thought...

April 09' Civil PE Exam - How did it go?

you could have written my response... basically the same for me, except i probably spent closer to 160 hours studying. i was pretty surprised with the transportation section. I took the Lindeburg practice exam and got one wrong... i also did the 6 minute solutions book (120 questions) and got 2...

    lindeburg sample exam errors

#'s 121-124 are structural problems in the Lindeburg Sample Exam I have (2nd edition)... so i am not sure.

    lindeburg sample exam errors

#168 - Did you mean #167? If so - the subtraction of 300 twice is correct. It represents two different things... the first being the superelevation runoff, and the second being the tangent runout. The 150' presented in the table is 1/3 of the superelevation runoff - you know this because it...

    Speed Limit, FFS and BFFS

i dont think this is true.... see Example 1 in the HCM, chapter 23. They give a posted speed limit of 70 mph, but use a BFFS of 75 (default for rural) and calculate a FFS of 68.2. If the speed limit had been used as the FFS in this problem, it would have yielded an incorrect answer (LOS C...

Lindeburg Civil PE Sample Exam - PM Transpo, #180

I think that the book incorrectly solves the problem, but I wanted to see if you guys agree... Basically, it asks for the directional flow rate, and says it is a 60/40 split (1100 total), so 660. At the beginning of the solution, they pick data from the tables to correspond with a directional...

    Question on Accident Data Analysis...

you said in another thread that you had the Lindeburg PE Sample Exam, Edition 2 right? If so - look at number 188. It asks for injury accidents and does NOT include fatal... and like i said - i cant find anywhere in any of 3 traffic engineering text books or any of my other references (besides...

Disagree with logic on NCEES Problem 505

yeah, this is what i meant... not a trick to make you get the wrong answer - but i thought they were using specific wording to gear me towards an answer (ie.. the cost only)

Disagree with logic on NCEES Problem 505

But thats just it - the problem isn't about comparing alternatives... it is about determining the highways costs over the life of the pavement. Or at least that's how I interpreted it... I do agree, though, that the assumption that the information they want could be used in a comparative...

Disagree with logic on NCEES Problem 505

Problem asks specifically for present worth of the COSTS - why would they include the residual value? The residual value is not a "cost", and it is not realized until the end of the design life. If an agency were trying to determine the amount of money that they needed to put away to cover all...

practice problems cerm 11th ed construction question

I agree with the first 3 posts... it doesn't make sense. They are asking for the position of the PC curb return, and then for some reason add the tangent distance of the 30' curve to the PI station of th 48' curve. The PI location of the 30' radius curve does not coincide with the PI of the 48'...

    Studying Officially Complete!

i didnt think so either, but couldn't figure out how he would have gotten 69/80... considering that there are only 20 questions for AM and PM, respectively.
