    Any terrible exam day experiences?

My story was horrible, but that may take the cake. Sorry to hear that your binder was screwed up. I hope you passed that next round! (Edit I just noticed this was a 2015 post)

    Any terrible exam day experiences?

Here's my story.  Studied my butt off like most here. Studied all of Christmas vacation (2 weeks), and took the week off from work for the exam to study.  The night before, couldn't sleep. Much like the op. Also bought five hour energy for the first time in my life. The fiancee' works by where...

    Registration Question

Passed my PE, but I noticed under my FE it says 'next steps': I'm fairly certain I received my certificate for my EIT (will have to check my records)... does anyone else's say differently?

CI Exam 2, Problem 10: VD % Equation

Thanks guys. So if the question reads feeder on the exam tomorrow for single phase, then take that as the entire loop impedance with no need to double then, correct?  Appreciate the helpful hint- and I'll just calculate it the way I've been doing in terms of VD. :)

    CI Exam #2, Problem 17

Guess I'm missing something. Say I have a single cap with -j1 impedance, and 1V line voltage. By itself I get |1| VAR, and let's say that's it's rating. In parallel with the same unit, I get |2| VARs. If I put it in series with itself I then only can supply 1/2 Var for pfc (voltage constant for...

CI Exam 2, Problem 10: VD % Equation

Will do. The question reads "What is the voltage drop for a 120V, single-phase copper feeder that is 220 ft long with a maximum load current of 40<-10A? The impedance per 1000ft of feeder is 0.78+j*0.052 Ohms" Ans. 11% Book Soln: Rline=0.34 Ohms, Xline=0.023 Ohms. VD= 40 [...

CI Exam 2, Problem 10: VD % Equation

I have a fundamental question on the voltage drop % equation, not the actual understanding of voltage drop.  CI Problem 10 Exam 2 solves for the voltage magnitude drop, then divides that by the nominal voltage. My initial solving used the magnitude difference of the load voltage and feeder...

    CI Exam #2, Problem 17

Going through these exams one last time, and was reintroduced to the one problem that didn't make much sense to me.  The answer to the problem states " 3 phase cap banks, whether they are connected in series or parallel to each phase, their total kvar contributions are added". Is this true? I...

    Complex Imaginary Practice Books

I've been busy with the Graffeo Book, but I decided it was time to order these books along with the NEC drillbook.  How long has the site been down? Is there any other way to obtain the books? Hopefully they are not down for good...  On the one in a million chance someone has any info, please...
