Very simple, they make the actual exams. They are the ONLY people that know what will be on the exam.  Thus, they can charge a very high price for paper "practice" exams and people will pay it, because they think those "practice" exams would be the best on the market.  If you are going to try...

Not perturbed at all, i was more that prepared for the actual exam and felt that I did great. You do not have to be personally impacted by something to observe and voice your opinion that something is wrong.  At its not about the money either for me.  I just really think NCEES should be held to...

Did you read what I wrote? It has nothing to do with having the same problems or lack there of.  The practice exams NCEES sells do not represent the level of engineering knowledge in your field that you need to have to  be ready to take and pass the real exam.  This has nothing to do with...

You dont use a practice exam to "study".  You study all materials that could be covered, and then you take a practice exam without looking at any of the questions beforehand.  You use a practice exam to test how much you are prepared.  If you consistently get 90% on practice exams, that means...

I agree that you shouldn't assume you are ready based on a practice test for the most part.   If the  testmaker is going to produce these practice exams,  they should absolutely include a consistent distribution of difficulty/content/subjects.   They do not have to include the same or similar...

The NCEES practice tests for transportation were almost completely worthless.  I actually feel that me taking the NCEES practice test on Thursday (got 70 of 80 correct) did nothing more than waste 8 hours that could have gone to much better use just reviewing my notes or something.   I don't...

I took Maryland on Friday, and they said nothing to me about my smart glasses, but I did have them on airplane mode...

Correct, "if" you were fired...  But hopefully you wouldn't be since termination is not  "required".  I'm done though,  this is a rather pointless argument,  the agreement says what it says, and words mean what they mean.

Are you in charge of invalidating exams for NCEES? Because whoever is, would make the decision to invalidate the exam based on their evaluation of the actions that provide the "Grounds for" doing so.  Your employment contract might state that being late for work 5 days in a row is grounds for...

You understand what the word "confiscate" means right? How are they going to continue to "communicate", if they do not have it anymore? The agreement requires it be confiscated, and allows for the proctor to dismiss.  You can argue all day long about your opinion, and so can I, but there really...

Yeah and I was talking about the sleeves, as in heavy cotton like a hoodie, not sure how having a hood would have anything to do with being able to see something on my wrist...  And as to the original subject, reread the agreement, they do not have to dismiss or invalidate, they just have...

    Too many References!!!

The candidate agreement would indicate that you cannot publish or discuss any exam questions.  It looks like they do not include any language that would make it "OK" to discuss them, even with others who just took the same test, during the lunch break or any other time.  Problem is, they would...

Agreement Here: http://ncees.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/ExamineeGuide_1-13-16.pdf On page 27 you find the section "Grounds for Dismissal from the Exam and/or Invalidation of Exam Results" Note that it is "Ground for" and the critical part, "and/or Invalidation".  The rules do not "require"...

Key word, "potentially", and we are talking about 7 hours into an 8 hour exam.  Any damage would have already been done, but that is assuming someone actually modified their fitbit with additional hardware so that it could beam test questions out of the building since bluetooth range is only 20...

Didn't they say this happened with an hour left? At that point, I think they should just let you finish, and let NCEES decide what they want to do.  The problem is, they should have done this during the morning exam, people wear these things on the wrist right? Sounds like the proctors were...

I had that one, but couldn't find the Roadside DG in the library at our office since someone apparently didn't return it, found the 3rd ed online and printed that out, it helped a little bit.

    Too many References!!!

If you are applying for a PE License, you should be an actively working in the specific field that you are applying for, and you should have access to the industry standard materials that go along with that field.  The conceptual & lookup questions, as much as I also hate them, are critical...

    Maryland Exam Information

I was at the Maryland exam, and I didn't even notice people getting removed.  If it happened during the afternoon, i can't image why they wouldn't just tell those examinees that they were being "flagged" and NCEES would make a final determination on if their scores would count.
