    Working for Arup, AECOM, Jacobs...

I am a Civil Engineer with a couple of years of working experience, PE license in CA, and Masters degree. I was wondering if any of you guys have worked for either of these companies in the US. They work on really appealing and diverse civil engineering projects all over the world so I might try...

Salary raise after passing PE exam

Passed PE civil with structural depth in California on my first try. Literally worked my ass off to combine work and study these last months to pass the 3 exams. My employer does not want to raise my salary at all, basically because they say I dont have enough experience. I cannot argue with...

Civil Breadth - Means & Methods

I was thinking from my perspective, structural PM. For the AM portion you are right it should be enough

Civil Breadth - Means & Methods

For this April, it was out-of-date significantly for all masonry stuff, for steel and concrete although the specs changed from AISC 13th to 14th and ACI 8 to 11 I think it was good enough, but they should really come up with their 15th edition before this October...

Feel good about how you did on the exam?

Yeah, I had heard from so many people that the AM was a joke and the PM struct very tough... that in the end the PM part did not look that bad

Feel good about how you did on the exam?

Any general thoughts about the Structural PM exam? For me the questions were really diverse and some of them unexpected, but I felt the level of the exam was about the same as the practice/sample exams

Prob 521 NCEES Civil: Structural Sample Exam

I disagree with your statement. In order to determine Cb you need to know the shape of the moment diagram, you dont need to know the values. You can compute Cb based on moments being in terms of P.

NCEES EXAMINEE GUIDE MARCH 2015 use of tabs in references

Extracted from NCEES EXAMINEE GUIDE MARCH 2015 "You may tab reference books before the exam with sticky notes and flags, but pads of sticky notes and flags are not permitted in the exam room" Does this mean things like this...

    Masonry book for structural PM

My opinion is that 20 hrs of study in any topic makes you jump from 0% knowledge to 60% knowledge, while the same amount of study on a topic you are already at 60% will only put you at 75% knowledge. But as said before, there are many strategies so choose the one you feel it is the best for you

    Masonry book for structural PM

Thanks guys for your response. I was wondering...the exam specs are really vague about what questions we can expect? How many questions can we expect on masonry or timber, and what complexity will they be?
