Everything must be bound in some form (i.e. the loose paper shake-down test). All books should be permitted.

Prep for PE Exam - A Simple Guide

Where did you obtain 4x mock up exams? This would be helpful. The only exam that I've seen that's very good is from the NCEES. Thanks

Where are you getting your stamps?

The only place I've seen: prestodirect.com

Prep for PE Exam - A Simple Guide

Most people won't care, but just in case you do, I figured I'd post the strategy I used to prepare for the PE. If you can glean anything from this, please take it. If not, nothing lost. I'm not going to go over testing strategy, just a prep outline that worked very well for me. My advice, if...

    If you Failed!

mmcdowell25_PE is correct. However, what do you do for your job NakedOrangie? If you do transportation for your work I recommend testing in this area as it will help you have knowledge where it matters most and you will find more purpose to your studying.

Please recommend a Civil/Construction review course

School of PE definitely focuses on the AM portion of the exam. The 8 hour review of the PM portion is just a quick refresher, just enough to get you looking through the correct reference materials. I took the Transportation PM SoPE review and it made me sure that I had the right materials and...

    90 and Above

Examinees no longer receive a score (except in Texas). So no need to worry.

Local government job = 5% raise... IF the city council approves the budget AND compensation committee agrees. *sigh*

Please recommend a Civil/Construction review course

    1) School of PE was great. The instructor who taught construction was probably the best of the 5 disciplines as well. 2) Use the practice NCEES test as a guideline. It really is VERY VERY close to the test in terms of how difficult/long the problems are. 3) IMO, 6-minute Solutions are far...

    If you Failed!

Personally when I was preparing I was studying like crazy from the CERM. Then I took the School of PE and realized I wasn't focused on the right material. It helped a lot.

    If you Failed!

Itinerant, I believe trying a new angle would be helpful. If you didn't take a refresher class last time, maybe try it this next time. I took School of PE and it rocked, particularly if you need help on the morning questions. Then alter how you studied. Don't do the same thing you did last...

    Passing Score

I still have a hard time believing 70% didn't pass. I guess that means the test was "easier" this year than previous years.

Might want to sticky that post somewhere. People are always interested in this kind of stuff.

At this rate maybe we'll have all of the states done by the weekend! (not likely, but I'll be optimistic!)

    NCEES Texas

Congrats to those who passed. You're still very close to those who didn't quite make it. You'll get it next time no doubt

Agreed. I hope they're not related one bit. It'd be a terrible mistake.

Unfortunately it's giving some credit to the theory of passing results being given out first.
