oh, and to answer your questions about kaplan, i wouldn't recommend it. i bought about $200 worth and didn't get past page 5. too much like a textbook, not enough explaining, too much calculus/theory, etc.. stick to "the other board", CERM, and/or a review course (which will probably use CERM...

with this being the first time construction has made it on the test, there isn't going to be much material out there. you will be better off than we were going into April '08, but i would recommend "the other board" and the CERM. they should have you covered for the AM portion of construction...

i agree that you should stick to your strengths. i've always heard they like to change things up when they realize that people are grouping toward a certain test. maybe not for civil vs. mech. but definitely for depths. there was a time when everyone used to take WR depth in civil and passed...

i second this in a HUGE way! i wish i found this board earlier in my studying instead of after the fact. so useful! i will definitely be plugging this board for my coworkers.

i agree about traveling. i took the course in another state and it was worth it. there definitely is some studying to do after the course, but it puts you in the right frame of mind and gets you pointed in the right directions. if i was only studying from the CERM and sample exams, i would...

random question, don't want to start a new thread: how soon can i change my email signature and business card to reflect 'PE' instead of 'EI'? should i wait to be assigned a license number or am i good to go now that i have received the pass letter?

i don't think there is any rhyme or reason as to who is emailed first or last. maybe it has something to do with when you registered and were then assigned an examinee #? (but that would constitute rhyme and reason)

i said this already in another thread, but when i opened mine it had another attached pdf titled "FL_pass.pdf" which talked about what to do now and what the next steps were, so once i opened the email i knew before reading the attachments.

i have a friend here in FL who received a fail notice by email this afternoon. i'm not sure if they are going alphabetically or by examinee # or what

there isn't a drug in the world that can duplicate the feeling you have when you see that email, or when you open it (hopefully) to see good news. i'm still in shock and can't work a lick!

i would look into testmasters and see if they do a review course anywhere near you. i took one this spring and passed civil/WR/ENV first try. it was worth it.

i'm in FL and got it by email today. the email said hard copy WOULD NOT be mailed. (and i passed!)

I took WR/ENV as well.

got mine at 2:02pm (email) and i passed!! what's funny is when I open the email, there was a second attachment called "FL_Pass.pdf" which contained instructions on what to do now. so the suspense was taken away once I opened the email! huge weight off the shoulders!

i took the WR/ENV depth and found it very reasonable. i had time to review my calcs, check my answer sheet (found one i mis-bubbled) and even glance at some other sections. i think i prepped with really hard review problems so i came out more confident than i expected.
