    Tabbing the CERM

My recommendation for tabbing is this: As you are working through problems you will find yourself constantly flipping back to the same equations or the same appendix in the back of the CERM; as you notice yourself wasting time doing this, then simply tab it. By the end you will have a ton of...

Hours put in to pass october 2013 exam

I studied about 110 hours and started roughly 40 days before the exam. I do not necessarily recommend waiting until the month before until starting because I essentially had to devote every free hour to studying. However, it did train me to sit and focus for long periods of time on engineer...

    NY EIT Certificate/License number issued?

I did graduate from an ABET accredited program. From what I heard through the grapevine was that you have to actually submit a form to request a certificate if your school registers everyone all together. Maybe it is because they allow you to take the FE in your final semester of your...

Failed Exam - Register for April 2014

Stealth, I think that your problem is that you read the CERM nearly cover to cover. Why? A lot of the stuff in the CERM either applies to different depth sections or isn't on the test at all. The time you spent doing that you could have been focusing in on your own depth section, which you...

FE Passed.. Need Help to prepare for PE. Civil now

Yes you need all of the 9 standards. Also I would recommend that you get the 13th edition CERM. I do not have any experience with 4 or 5 above. I do recommend the PPI Construction Manual. Most important of all, PPI puts out a problems book that goes along with CERM and I consider this a...

FE Passed.. Need Help to prepare for PE. Civil now

I somewhat disagree with the 400 hours requirement. When I first started out studying, I literally read the CERM page by page and tried to figure out nearly every topic. This was taking me FOREVER and might have taken 400 hours. I than realized that a lot of the stuff I was studying did not...

FE Passed.. Need Help to prepare for PE. Civil now

NIO, I did not attend any classes. I purchased the Morning Breadth and Afternoon Depth packages from PPI. In total this cost me $800. I took the civil construction and all of the recommended references (i.e. ACI 318-08) I was able to obtain for free from the library. I believe that the...

Oct 2013 PE - Passing Percentages

Maybe the guy having the seizure was faking it because he was on the verge of failing.

    What happens after passing

I started working on the PMP application to fill the void of not having to towards the PE anymore.

Need help - Engineering judgement for most near answers for PE Exam

If the question is asking what is the required super elevation grade for this curve I would select 2 in this example because it is most nearly right; especially since super elevation can also have a maximum value.

Need help - Engineering judgement for most near answers for PE Exam

I just passed the civil construction and this is how I interpreted it: you should pick the answer that is about right, so if you calculated an answer to be say 4215 psi, and the choices were a) 2500 psi b) 3000 psi c) 4000 psi or d) 4750 psi you would pick c) 4000 psi because that is roughly...

    What happens after passing

Hey cupofjoe I would definitely contact the Missouri Board. I too applied in Missouri and my letter said something slightly different. It reads: "Your application for licensure as a Professional Engineer has been approved by the Professional Engineering Division of the Missouri Board, subject...

    NY EIT Certificate/License number issued?

I took the FE in NY back in 2008 and never received a EIT Certificate from them. I didn't need a physical certificate to be able to take the PE in Missouri this year. I would however like to get a copy of the NY EIT Certificate just to keep my records straight.

    Missouri Results Oct 2013

Passed MO Civil Construction!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly thought I would be close to failing because the afternoon was really tough. Also it took me all day to actually pull up the results because I was too nervous. It was more comforting to still be waiting for results than to know I...

How you did AM/PM October 2013 (All)

Yes I also thought the construction afternoon was tough. I took 4 practice exams prior to the test and scored around 35/40 on each of them only taking 3 hours. For the real thing I finished just in the nick of time, completely guessed on one, which I have never had to do during any of the...

What did anyone think about the PM Construction? I thought it was more difficult then the practice exams I took before the test.
