    Transformer primary and secondary

Is there a rule of thumb for the primary and secondary? For example is the transformer is 12.5/34.5 KV, is the primary the highest KV or just the one on the left? 12.5/34.5 KV Primary/Secondary ??

    Voltage at the load

A single phase transformer with a 120 volts secondary voltage connected to 500' 250 AWG bare copper in a PVC conduit feeder to a load that draws 40 amps and lags at .85. What is the voltage at the load?

    NEC problem

In a field-fabricated installation with a nominal voltage rating of 34.5 kV, the minimum air separation between bare live phase to phase conductors outdoors is what?

    Current at the load

Bus A is 4740<90 degrees Volts Bus B is 4100<0 degrees Volts between A and B is a line Z=20<32 degrees ohms What is the current at the load?

    KVA value

An ideal 3-phase transformer has a 200:50 turns-ratio, a high-side voltage of 250 Volts and a full load secondary current of 75 amps. What is the KVA of this transformer?

    Minimum reverse angle

Can someone give me their input on the minimum reserve angle of a diode in a full wave rectifier?

    CI V2 Vol3 #80

A delta Wye transformer is rated for: 34.5 KV/480 V, 125 Amp primary (high side) line current. This problem used 1.73 * I(line) * V(line) for the power calculation. What made this a 3 phase system in the description above?

    Complex question

    Given a voltage and current with different angles (complex), Say voltage angle is 20 degrees and current angle is 30 degrees, 20 minus 30 = -10 which is correct? S= V * I <-10 or S= V <20 * I <-10 and on a drop? Vin = V<20 + I <-10 * R or Vin = V + I <-10 * R

    CI V1-30

I could not find previous discussions on this problem. I get a max power (Watts) of 4.1 MW I get the answer in the book of 17 MVAR or apparent power of 17 MVA but not watts. 3 * 8660 * 9140 @ 14 degrees --------------------------------------- = 4.1 MW 14 j

3 phase transmission line is rated at 65 KV and 24 MVA. The line impedance is 50 ohm per phase. Assuming line rated values are also the base values, the per unit Z is ? Seems Zbase = Sq rt 3 * 65 KV^2 / 24 MVA I assume the statement "Assuming line rated values are also the base values" makes...

    Kaplan #24 Resistivity

As I understand, resistivity increases and temperature decreases. In #24 they calculate Resistance at 20 C being 13.75 ohm, and at 50 C being 15.4 ohm. Seems their answer does not follow the rule.

    NEC 110.14 (C) (1)(a)(1)

Says 60C column should be used for any amps less than 100 or 1-14 AWG conductors when using 310.15 (B)(16) I've never seen this before,

    KVA load on parallel generators

Spin up has a question 3-04, with Gen A at 3 MVA and 3%, Gen B at 4 MVA at 4%, both in parallel. The answer had the KVA load at 6 MVA. Where did the 6 MVA come from? 3M/.03 Gen A= --------------------- x 6 MVA (KVA Load) 3M/.03 + 4M/.04 I've seen CI in version 1-#13 add the parallel...

    Spin-up #4-02

I must be missing something on this problem, there are 2 sequence vectors shown. The one on the left has a clockwise rotation symbol (negative seq.) and the sequence of the maxima occur abc (positive seq). The one on the right has a counter clockwise rotation symbol (positive seq.) and the...
