    Master from US not Valid?

One of my co-workers had a masters from Marquette and a BS in civil engineering from Nepal. He tried to sit for Florida PE but they rejected his application because of humanities courses that didn't fill in, so he had to take it in Houston, Texas. He said most of the states accept masters from...

To all of those who passed, welcome to the club! To all of those who failed, keep trying. You will be there eventually.

Youngest Person to get PE License?

When I was 8, I had math scores equivalent to a high school senior. By taking too long to be a PE at 30, 9 months beats me. But it's never too late for anything.

Tomorrow, I believe. They released the Oct 2011 exam results on December 20 of last year, so I think they will follow the same path.

    Failed...looking at review courses

PPI has loads of reference material available. Worth spending every penny on the books. I used these books to pass the Civil-Transportation a 2nd time after not having them the first time last year. I also did a lot of self-study which made preparation a lot better.

    Map: October 2012 Exam Results

I think NCEES delivered the results once they were certified. When I took mine last April, the results were mailed to my account just after 1 pm on May 31 (Thursday). Typically those that pass get the mail first and those that fail get mail with diagnostic later.

    Failed EIT Test Takers

I passed the FE the first time 5 years back, I took it while I was close to graduation. It is way better if you take the FE while in school, so you don't have to get to memorize all in compressed time. I even did practice exam problems that PPI provided in the FE Review Manual. I don't have...

Recent Civil Engineer Graudate with no job. Am I doing something wrong?

Riodn, if things still don't go well, as Andy Reid once said when his QBs were not doing well, "Keep firing." This might work for you. I did the ASCE, internships, etc while I was at Old Dominion back in the mid-2000s. The economy was doing well at the time, so I had a job lined up after...

    AASHTO Green Book PDF?

My work has a PDF copy of the 6th edition. But the 2004 edition can really be used as a hard copy. I did the 2004 Green Book and it was pretty much useful. Regardless of the editions, if the old edition is a good one, then use it. No need to waste too much $$$ on a new book. I got them from work...

    Qualifying Experience Criteria in Virginia

Try going to www.dpor.virginia.gov and contact someone to see if the experience counts. I'm not too sure about the Math degree. I think it requires an engineering degree from ABET certified schools. If it's a masters in engineering, it counts.

Which Exam - Mechanical or Civil

Either get the 12th or the 13th CERM. I have found the 12th to be useful. I agree the Civil should be taken if the work involves a lot of civil engineering. If Civil does not work, then switch gears.

    Passed, Pay Raise?

Got a 10% promptly after passing the PE, and as I work for the state government in DOT, I got some pay adjustments and will get a 3% bonus in December, thanks to the Governor.

PE Civil Exam chaging in April 2013

I read the standards and it seems like nothing has changed. I think the old material is just as good for the new exams. When I took the PE I had the 2002 Roadside Design Guide and it worked well. I have known of people who had old books yet found them useful with different exam configurations.

I didn't get the score on the letter, just a license with pocket card and stamping seal instructions.

    April 2012 Pass Rates

My theory of the high pass % in April and the low pass % in October is that a lot of people take the exam in October and fewer people do in April. When I took the exam in October the room was pretty much full and when I took it last April the room was 1/2 to 3/4 full. I guess as much more...

How about bringing those books back or not? Since I passed VA, I'm thinking of lending those books I used for the PE.
