The 45 kv given in the problem is a typo it's supposed to be 25 kv. You can download the errata from the Kaplan website, I would recommend you do it. If I remember correctly there are several typos in the sample problems, some of which will totally change the problems.

There are other good options out there. I passed the test and used the NCEES, PPI and Kaplan sample exams in my studies.

Georgia Tech has an online course, I believe there are a few others if you'll Google Sucks them. For the EIT I think all you need to do is buy the PPI review manual and go through every page and do all the problems.

I passed with the TI-36X Pro, bought the Casio FX115-ES as well but couldn't stand it. I've always used TI's through school so am just used to the way everything works with them. It seems to be on par with the Casio in everything it can do.

I took the Georgia Tech course and thought it was very beneficial. Dr Callen sends you a binder with notes in it that go along with the video lectures. He's also very responsive to emails if you have questions.
