I spent 250+ hours studyding since New Years. On the NCEES online sample exam, I missed 2/20 in the morning (both thermo) and 3/20 in the MD afternoon (including the code question you had to have an earlier Shigley for), so I was confident going in. Boy, was I surprised; I felt like the exam...

Good stuff! I think it'll be helpful on the PE, too. I don't have time to watch the videos, now, but I'm going to print at least the Thermo and Fluids notes to bring in to the PE with me tomorrow.

I pulled out my old Shigley 4th Edition, and note that it says: "This code has been obsolete for many years now..." I figure that's why it's been dropped from the newer editions, and is probably not a likely exam question.

This appeared on the online sample Machine Design PM Module as well. I've got the new Shigley's 8th Edition, couldn't find it in there. That was the only one I totally had to guess on. The only code questions I figure I'm likely to get are the Pressure Vessel stuff in the MERM.

As a follow-up, I purchased the online exam this morning and tried to take it. I was not able to see any of the graphics on the Mechanical AM module, so there were only about six of the twenty questions that I could answer. Anyone else been able to do it (without having the book)? I e-mailed...

I'm finding quite a few errors in the Six-Minute Solutions Machine Design book, so be sure to check the errata. These books are in their first edition, so I expect they will improve. I borrowed them from work; would be dissapointed if I'd spent my own money on them. :smileyballs: The MERM...
