    Which states don't require references to have PE licenses?

    Which states do not require that supervisory references be licensed PEs (assuming they can otherwise show engineering competence)? Colorado doesn't California doesn't (with exceptions for several disciplines like Civil) Both accept out-of-state applicants for their tests. Others? Thanks, A. B.

    Many years of experience but no PE references

    I graduated with an ABET-accredited B.S.E. in the 1970s. At the time, mechanical engineering students were advised to skip the PE exam.
