    PE and Money

I agree with engrstructural11. They should be totally separate as getting a PE is totally separate matter than your normal annual performance review.

Master's Degree or equivalent requirements - Your Thoughts

I agree with snickerd3, I think all current PE's would be grandfathered in. It would be impossible to make all current PE's to go back to college to earn a Master's Degree, especially if they are running their own firm. It would essentially strip your right to practice engineering in your...

Master's Degree or equivalent requirements - Your Thoughts

http://ncees.org/Audience_Landing_Pages/Students.php Please refer to the above link and read paragraph "Changes to Education requirements." What are your thoughts on the additional education requirements that will be enacted in 2020? Overall I think it is a good thing, it will make the title of...

    Civil Engineering Salary Question

I haven't had a chance to talk to recruiters, and am unsure how to. I've always sought out my own jobs and never had used a recruiter before. I hadn't planned on just saying "well I'm a P.E. now, wheres my raise?" I planned on taking more responsibility, (checking Jr engineers work, stamping...

    Civil Engineering Salary Question

Well I've used websites such as engineersalary, payscale and glassdoor, for areas right around where I am, they are saying I should be around the 65k mark. However; I don't think any of these take into account for stamping designs. I would assume it would go up even more to say the 70k mark? I...

    NY PE Results

Addi, I received my license last April and no, you do not get a official letter in the mail, you just get an e-mail saying congrats. I remember waiting for my license number also, it seems there is no rhyme or reason to how they go up, it usually starts with A, B, C then they start jumping all...

    Overwhelmed

I took the Geotechnical exam this past April. I was pretty busy with a lot of stuff as well with work, but tried to find whenever I could. I used lunch breaks to read chapters in the CERM, at night, and took full advantage of weekends whenever possible. One big peice of advice that was already...

    Study system summary.

PE_Exam_Index.xls Attached you will find a copy of my master index, hopefully it is helpful. Its partially incomplete due to me writing in some of the remaining information that i put on it. CERM was my main reference, especially during the AM portion. I used it for a good portion of PM but...

    Study system summary.

I made a "master index" of all my books, and made a spreadsheet with every topic covered in AM and PM sections, helped me a ton in finding info and was a good tool for studying as well so I could cross reference materials in my different references.

    CPESC anyone?

I was debating on going for CPESC as well cause there are a few people in my office that have it. However, I just obtained my PE in Civil so i doubt I'll be going for this as PE encompasses much more than this certification alone and I think the 200 in annual dues just doesnt fly with me...

    Education Requirements for PE

I would assume that all current PEs would be grandfathered into the new requirements for a Masters Degree, I can't see them asking all PEs that currently don't have a Masters Degree go back to school, its just too unrealistic to do.

    Education Requirements for PE

What do you guys think about the education requirements for getting a PE in certain states? Do you think they should do away with getting a PE with experience alone and require everyone have a bachelors in engineering or do you think they should leave as is? I am for requiring everyone having a...

    Passed, Pay Raise?

Where I work it is a unique place that we work with a variety of organizations, with the federal gov't included, its very complicated, and my organization is not-for-profit, and recieves funding from the state and NYC to do work to improve water quality. All work is currently checked under and...
