I'm in! I unfortunately took about 6 years off from taking. I sat for the Fall 2021 and did not have success.

BEST Review Courses/Materials for someone with ZERO Seismic/Survey Background

Regarding Seismic: Please believe ALL the comments regarding Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed of AEI (formerly of EET). His teaching ability is excellent. I passed a few years back because of his teaching method. He literally walked me through seismic. I have two small children and was unable to commit to the...

    Hiner vs. EET

I've taken both review courses. I didn't pass after taking Hiner's course but I did pass after taking EET. Dr. Ibrahim's teaching method worked well with a student like me (limited structural background, slow at understanding seismic concepts). Good Luck!

    EET Seismic Review

I just passed Seismic! (2nd attempt). Dr. Ahmed is absolutely awesome! The comments are true! His passion for wanting you to pass shows.  I have limited knowledge of structures and even less of seismic. He taught in terms I could understand...which is at a 1st grade level.? Seriously, I believe...

Wow!  I'm SO inspired by the vast range of age/life/etc.  It's inspiring...I didn't pass (again) but will try(again). I've been out of school for about 15 years.  I took the FE about 13 years ago. Thanks for sharing!

    Took EET and Didn't Pass

I took EET-Construction and didn't pass.  Nazrul breadth portion was spot on for my exam but for other areas...I'm not so sure.

For those discovering they didn't pass...

I didn't pass Construction. :(   Along with some serious studying I went over a couple of sample exams.  I felt the breadth was much more difficult than the depth...which probably explains why I did better in the afternoon than the morning...just not well enough to pass. Question for those that...

    Parapet out-of-plane seismic loads

ASCE 12.1.2 staes that a "nonstructural component is a part or an elemnet of an architectural, electrical or mechanical system. ASCE 7 13.5: A parapet is an architectural component. If you're designing for out of plane forces, you would use the Rt=Fp=fp (hw/2+hp). hp=height of the parapet

I'm interested in taking the Construction portion. For those that took the exam, can you provide some feedback into what books were more helpful than others?
