EERM 8th ed. vs. Power Reference Manual

This topic was discussed for the October exam. I purchased EERM 8th prior to the Power book being released and it was sufficient. If you have an older version, I would suggest saving the money.

    Question: EIT

I took the EIT five year out of school. I averaged 15 hours/week of studying (brushing off the cobwebs) for three months. Know the supplied reference manual well. Use other resources, such as Lindeburg, to give examples and to work problems, but the supplied reference manual is your guide. I...

    PPI Exam Cafe Problems

I am with the two of you. I found the Exam Cafe useful for the FE, but the non-quantitative questions for the PE do not seem worth the time.

NEC 2008 Problems for the Power PE exam

Aerofrank, I have not purchased any of Mike Holt's preparation texts, but I have been using the online quizzes. I cannot speak to whether these quizzes and questions will reflect the exam questions; they do provide experience in thumbing through and becoming familiar with the code.

    Reference material

I completely agree. I was five years out of school and took this same approach (took the general in the afternoon). Be comfortable with the supplied reference manual and you'll be money.

    Engineering Economics

Engineering Econ questions are really quite simple. Study the equations and tables for an hour or two, make sure you can solve each of the different problem types and you'll be money. Easy points.
