If they list the 1989 version as a reference for the exam, then I believe that's the one you need. I couldn't find a copy of that book anywhere when I took the exam, but still was able to pass without it.
I passeed on 4th try. One thing that I think helped me was reading and rereading each question to make sure I was answering the question they were asking (even sometimes underlining it in the exam booklet). You might know how to do a problem, and feel good about your answer, but perhaps they...
Last time around, I received the results on Saturday, after the Thursday meeting. Some people in northern CA were posting on Friday that they received their results. It appears that last time they actually went out Thursday after the meeting.
If you check out the NCEES site, they don't even list solid or hazardous waste as a topic for testing.

It is interesting... The lack of quality control on their web page. The 'new and updated information' page announces that the results will be approved at the January 14, 2009 meeting. When you follow the link, it talks about a January 15, 2009 meeting. And, it still says the letters won't be...
California Board's web page was updated last friday. They are scheduled to meet 1/14. I believe that's 11 days earlier than last year. Something positive in the sea of despair that is this topic.
What's even more pathetic is that by the time we get the results, the results clock on this board will be gone. By that time, the countdown clock for the next exam will be up.
The test has been reformatted for the new code. You need 07 CBC and ASCE7-05 to answer code type questions. Hiner's book seems to be the best study book at organizing and distilling the needed info. There are links to his web site in other discussions within this Board.
