Hi, I just sent a PM for this, too. Thanks very much!

Civil PE (wtr/ENV) or Environmental PE for Chemical Eng

I also have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and a master's degree in environmental engineering. I'd worked on water, wastewater, solid waste, and environmental assessment projects prior to taking the exam. I took the Environmental PE exam. I agree with most of your pros and...

Which state is the best to take the PE exam?

Well, you're not going to be taking the exam in Rhode Island, nor can you ever get a license there, unless you go out and get another ABET accredited engineering degree... From here. (Warning: large PDF file)

Taking the PE exam in a second discipline?

I have a B.S. in ChemE, and an M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering. I just passed the PE exam in Environmental, and have just received my license in Connecticut. I was considering taking the PE exam in a second discipline (Civil-Environmental), because I think it would give me more...

    issue of license

My license is now listed as "ACTIVE" online! I guess the paper copy will show up in the mail sometime...but this is enough for me to call myself a P.E. now.

    issue of license

Another week, and still no license. On the Connecticut online license verification, they added an "effective date" and an "expiration date" for my non-license, but the status is still listed as "PENDING."

    issue of license

I finally got my passing letter from the Connecticut Board! (It was mailed last week while I was on vacation.) Now I have to send them a check for $55.00 and wait some more for my actual license to be issued. In just 3 weeks, it'll have been a year since I sent in my application to take the PE...

    issue of license

Still waiting in Connecticut. I called the Board again two weeks ago, and they said that they would be sending letters out "in a couple of weeks." This is really getting aggravating. I sent my P.E. application in to the state almost a year ago, for crying out loud! Does any other profession...

    issue of license

I received my exam results in Connecticut on June 22, and am still waiting for my license to be activated. From what I can tell, Connecticut actually issues a license number when your application to take the exam is approved. The CT Dept. of Consumer Protection website shows my name, address...

    Exam Expenses

I work for a civil and environmental engineering consulting firm. My company reimbursed me for the state licensing fee ($40), exam fee ($220), all my books ($380), and gave me the day off with pay to take the exam. They will also pay for recurring license fees and stamps (up to two states), as...

CONSOLIDATED ADVICE THREAD: Env PE Exam

I just took the Environmental PE exam for the first time in April 2007, and passed. Here is what my studying consisted of: I thoroughly went through Introduction to Environmental Engineering by Davis and Cornwell. (The link is for the 6th edition—I had the 5th). This consisted of reading the...

    Cross-discipline PEs

Crossed from undergrad: BS - Chemical Engineering (1991) MS - Civil & Environmental Engineering (2001) FE - General (2003) PE - Environmental Engineering (passed April 2007) I'm considering taking the PE exam in Civil (Enviro depth) next year. I'd have to learn Structures and...

    PASSING MEMBERS POST HERE

Oh, and I passed in Connecticut! Environmental PE, first try! Pretty amazing, considering that I'm 16 years out of undergrad, it's been 8-10 years since my grad school coursework, and I only studied for a week. (That "week" was pretty flat-out though; I took the whole week off from work to...

    PASSING MEMBERS POST HERE

env_K, did you take the Environmental exam or the Civil-Environmental exam? I'm curious, because according the "the other board" info about Rhode Island, the Environmental exam isn't offered in RI. Has this changed? Thanks!

    Anyone other Envls here?

I just took the ENV PE exam for the first time in April 2007 and just found out that I passed! I've got a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering. I wish I'd known about this board before the exam, but I did read Dleg's helpful advice post on the "the...
