Environmental exam is changing in 2011!!!!

I took the exam twice (2008 and 2009) and from my experience I thought NCEES needed to update the spec to better match what shows up on the exam. I wonder if the afternoon will be a specific discipline area like the other exams...?

How Much Math is On the Environmental Exam??

The math is not the challenge but rather the breadth of topics covered on the environmental exam. I took the exam twice (2008 and 2009), and except for a heavy focus on air problems the rest of the exam varied. There are a good number of qualitative questions but you need to be familiar with the...

    Taking a break in october...

Sorry to hear you failed. When I failed the exam in April 2008, I was too burnt out and discouraged to try in October. Like you, I decided to wait a year to try again. Air problems were a big hurdle for me. There were no review courses for the environmental exam in my area, and I was overwhelmed...

    Hi from Boston

Thanks, Spyderman - I just saw this post. I will give your questions some thought and post again soon. But right off the top of my head - you are already giving yourself more time then I did on my first try so you are on the right track. Knowing your references is important as you don't want to...

    STAMP

Regarding stamps, I will probably just order online from here once I received my license number: http://www.acornsales.com/Merchant2/mercha...n/CTGY/Engineer I am going to get a stamp and a separate ink pad. I hear the self inking ones can dry out unless they are used a lot. In Massachusetts...

    Study vs. Family Life

Congratulations to all of you!! It was hard enough to juggle studying for the FE and PE with my career and taking care of a small household (great spouse and lazy cat!) No toddlers or teens though. I let all the house work, cooking, shopping, etc... go and my husband picked up the slack as much...

Pass Rate is Out for the April 2009

I looked at the historical results - the time I failed the environmental PE (April 2008) was an all time first timer low of 63%. April 2009 is much higher (75%) and in line with past results. Good job enviros! I am glad I passed as a repeat taker this time - that pass rate is only 33%.

    Failure Thread

I felt similarly about the environmental exam - I think they really need to update the study/reference material. There were no courses offered for this discipline. This past exam I used a self study course through the University of Delaware. They seem to have an electrical review course...

    Failure Thread

I felt the same way after failing in April 2008. I couldn't pull myself together for October, but decided to study over the winter for the April 2009 exam and passed. I was much better prepared the second time. I knew what to expect and was able to manage my time better and focused on my weak...

    Massachusetts Results?

Thanks, amn14. I got three sheets in the envelop from EES - a form that said I passed, a sheet that told me how to get my wall certificate, stamp, etc... and a sheet that had an example of what the stamp should look like. I hope your results arrive very soon and you passed!

    Calculators

I used a Casio fx-115MS for the April 2004 FE (passed), April 2008 PE (failed...) and April 2009 PE (hopefully passed). This calculator is great!

    Massachusetts Results?

I checked the Board of Registration calendar and they met on 6/25. I think we will see results in MA by July 3rd (that's exactly 10 weeks...). I will need to have somebody else check my mail this week as when I see a letter from EES I may just pass out... I wasn't anxious until results started...

    Massachusetts Results?

It is ridiculous but sadly, all we can do now is wait. What will keep me going until I get my results is the fact that I do not live in California. They have to wait until August! California wins the bureaucratic bologna prize. Good luck to you, vucat (and all other EES victims out there!)
