If you are deciding between the two, I think HVAC would be a better choice.  The pass rate is almost 10 points higher and you were already very close.  Maybe not the best metric in making a determination but just my 2 cents.  Just make sure you understand the concepts and do lots of practice...

You are notified through email when results are available regardless of outcome. Having said that, OP doesn't sound very confident.  I think anybody could pass any of the exams if you study enough, however it' easier when you are already comfortable with the material.  Look at the specifications...

Found out I passed! Self study with many weekends on the couch. I thought Thermal and Fluids was pretty hard. Could have gone either way but glad it's over.

I took TFS as well.  Thought morning was pretty difficult, afternoon was not as bad but still found myself guessing on several.  I too wanted to feel confident coming out of that test.  Now, I'm dreading the wait because I know if I don't pass it will be just barely which makes it that much...

I'm trying to understand when to use MERM Eqn 36.28 vs Eqn 36.31.   It states that the former is used for constant heat flux and the latter for constant wall temp but what does this mean exactlly?  Just want to know if there is a rule of thumb for knowing when each is applicable based on problem...

Does this mean it would be acceptable to use the T actual (from Eqn 29.21 or Eqn 29.23) and substitute into isentropic relations (Eqn 29.2 through Eqn 29.19)?

This seems like one of the easier questions, but the answer doesn't make sense to me.  It uses more geometry than T&F.  The screw won't fit until the hole is tapped in step 3, but the solution uses the hole initially drilled from step 1.  I get .233 (B) as my answer since 3/8 + 2*.233 = .78.
