    Oil slick

Am not going to be a chearleader for BP on this one, the fact that so many livelihoods are going to be ruined, probably for the second time, because someone along the line royally screwed up is wrong. I love gulf shrimp!! It tastes better than oil :D

    Oil slick

Like you are stating we need as much oil/gas to be produced in the US for the US. Regardless who the leader is - "wink, wink" type of enforcement of any regs on the books is destructive and wrong...since we have to eventually pay for all the screw-ups, essentially this is worse than socialism -...

    Oil slick

I couldn't agree more. From my perspective this is the real socialism, hey...a big round of applause to the anti-regulatory crowd of the past 10-15 years on this quagmire. Brilliant!!

    what's after PE?

I agree, in the A/E world where the emphasis is typically on the commercial market type items (hospitals, office buildings, schools...etc), that sector does place a high value on acronyms beyond your name, especially if a client has an RFP that requires certifications for design. However, an...

    what's after PE?

Honestly, the other certifications are not necessary (in the end they are a moneymaking operation for someone else, especially the LEED), unless you have some other intent beyond the electrical discipline, such as project management. Study the IEEE standards & gain new experiences, your PE...

    CO - PE Results!!!!

Haven't seen anything yet...looks like in past year the letter mailing method was a lot quicker...now it seems we have an extra step to hurdle with the "website" method....Yeah this really sucks...

    October 2009 Electrical Power Exam

I humbly believe I probably got 58 out of 80, guessed on three and the rest could be 50/50. It was hard, but within the realm of power engineering...my impression is the difficulty level was slightly higher than the sample exam.

    Architectural Engineering PE

Pullease... I mean ....who really needs a lowly lame dumb engineering school right? I always thought that being a flailing virulent floor techie with an Associates in both Applied Science & Physical Science is the ultimate way to go ...right!!! Your opinion has the weight of toilet...

    Ladder Logic, PLC Basics

A book that I have used in the past as a reference is Electrical Control for Machines by Kenneth Rexford. It is really basic with its presentation of relay logic/ladder diagrams, though my edition is from 1992, so a more current version may be more helpful.

INTJ over here, the description provided on typelogic.com eerily sounds familar ...

    Shunt Trip Circuit Breaker Application

It appears that the 120V circuit may be routed through a "normally open" contact on the controller. It does seem odd, since a controller can have a lower voltage control circuit built-in via transformer, with a lock-out circuit ("normally open") available, so tracking down that situation would...

Wating time for a new application

My Colorado application took 3 months and 5 days before I received a postive response. I wouldn't count on anything running perfectly ... I've had to reschedule my exam to April as a result of the snail's pace to review my application.... :brickwall:
