    Thanks to everyone!

Just found out the good news that I passed! Thanks to everyone on the board who answered my stupid questions, and everyone else for their comments and links. I couldn't have passed without the help of this site. Thanks!!! :multiplespotting:

Holy crap! I passed too! Congrats to all that did. For those who didn't, don't be discouraged. This was my second go round, and it can be done!

Anyone else not getting any work done and just hitting refresh? By the way, sorry to bump the topic to the top. When I saw it at the top yesterday I thought the results were out.

    NCEES Prob. # 514

My mistake on the current. I did the math right, but stated the circuit incorrectly. You are correct that Ia1=V / (Z1 + (Z2//Z0)). Good catch.

I also found this website which has some motor control circuits: http://www.exman.com/index.html Check out the examples on the side bar.

    Power Electronics Help

I had the same question awhile back and I believe it was cableguy (hope I give the right credit) who supplied this link: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt....html#03267.png Make sure you read the PDF file linked at the top. Also, I checked out "Electrical Machines, Drives, and Power...

    NCEES #119 Power

Thank you both for the help. One more question for clarity. If this stated that it was a generator, would it change from 150% output power to 150% input power and make the calculation essentially the same?

    NCEES #119 Power

NCEES problem #119 is asking for starting torque given that it is 150% of full load torque. The first line reads "An induction motor is rated at 1,000 hp, 1,165 rpm, 2.4 KV, 201 A, 3 phase, 60 Hz, 0.94 lagging power factor at full load." Is there something I should be looking for to figure out...

Good to hear. Thanks for the follow up!

    NCEES Prob. # 514

I was looking again at this problem, and tried solving with different types of faults. If anyone has time, check my work because I'm not too confident on this subject: If this were a 3 phase fault, we would only see the positive sequence, in which case the positive sequence voltage would be 1...

    PE review course

FYI for anyone interested. I called Testmasters and they do not sell any material. So, if anyone happens to have some extra problems or examples they want to throw my way...

    PE review course

Do you know if Testmasters sells their questions? I was interested in taking their course until I realized I'd have to go to Houston to take it (quite a commute from the east coast of Florida). I've taken the GA Tech online course which was great save a few subjects. The budget is a little...

    PE review course

Question for those who took the Test Master's course: Were the examples that they worked out straight from the Camara practice problems, or was there more to it? I'm on a search for sample problems, and am curious if it is worth paying for those sample questions. I've read on other forums...
