I paid a $1000 for the Testmaster’s FE prep course, and it was worth every single penny, and then my employer picked up the tab for the PE references and prep course. They also gave every new PE a $1000 bonus so I pretty much broke even :D I’m just out about 500 hours of my life!

Why are we assuming that a barely passing PE score is going to hinder you for the rest of your professional life? I know plenty of 2.0 GPA guys who barely got their degrees and then got very good jobs and moved on with their lives. There is a lot more to a hire/fire decision than just your test...

Not to sound like a heartless mean person, but if THEY ARE BETTER then why can't they reap the benefits of their hard work and dedication? Everyone has the same opportunity to study for 100s of hours and score high on this test, it's not like this test is judging something outside our control...

I agree 100%. I spent around 450 hours studying for this thing. I worked all NCEES, Kaplan, PPI, Kaiser, and grad school problems over and over again, 531 unique problems to be exact and I would love to know how well I did. Did I ace this test? Did I just barely pass? I would like to know just...

I heard from someone that if you score really high on the PE exam that your state's engineering board could contact you and sometimes even offer you a position on an exam committee. Is there any truth to this? Is there any way you could get an idicator of how well you did on the test?

I got my letter in the mail Friday, I passed! I was almost certain that I failed when I grabbed the envelope, it was a pretty fat envelope and I always heard that the thicker envelopes mean there is a diagnostic report inside so I was pretty bummed out. I opened it to find the pass letter plus...

I just called the Alabama board of engineers and I was told "they were mailed out this morning". It's 05/26/2011 8:39 AM here in Birmingham Alabama at the moment. So hopefully we will get them tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Maybe, but the requirements are actually for obtaining a PE license. That's not what I am concerned with now. I don't need to know if I actually got my license, I just need to know if I passed the PE exam. I wouldn't think that failing the FE exam that weekend would negate your PE passing score...

I wonder if Alabama is one of those states that updates as they validate. Anyone know? I have been checking my name all morning.

Think if I kept checking my name it would change from "Engineer Intern" to "Professional Engineer" if I passed?

Yep, they've done very well! I think last year was 46 days. Now I wish all of these backwards states would dump the whole useless waste of time and resources process of "validating and then snail mailing" and just get with the program. Why do you need to waste paper, postage, adminstration...

Yep, I'm hoping to get the letter Friday or Saturday by the latest. Someone posted, I think it was KathyG, saying that she had called the Alabama engineering board yesterday afternoon and they had our results and were in the process or validating them right now.

I believe Pensnsylvania is by "letter" and it took about 3 weeks longer than everyone else to get results there.
