Anyone Apply for a License in MI Recently?

I received my results on the PE back in December and applied for my license at the first opportunity at the beginning of the year. In fact I beleive I sent the license and all my references in on Jan 4th. The State says on their website that it takes 6-8 weeks to process an application. Well...

Which State has the Coolest Seal Design?

    That's not a seal. That's just a stamp.

    Rethinking Study Approach

I think I'd tend to agree with what everyone else has said although I studied a bit different from what most here are saying. I used the outline in the beginning of the MERM to develop my study plan. Then I would sit down and read a chapter and then work the problems associated with that...

    References for T&F

You are in very much the same situation I was in when starting to study (i.e. decent fluids and heat transfer background but not so great with thermo). I studied exclusively with the MERM and the MERM companion set of sample problems. I went through and studied the chapters of the MERM that...

Which State has the Coolest Seal Design?

California is still pretty basic. Unless you were referring to the fact that you put your discipline on the seal.

    What Color was the Pencil?

I think this is a really cool idea. I'd like to see pictures of how others have done it though.

Which State has the Coolest Seal Design?

Being a Mechanical Engineer, I've got to agree with you that Washington has by far the coolest seal. I didn't think it'd be that easy of a decision but because all the others are so lame I guess it is. As far as the Wyoming seal goes, I've heard that the bucking bronco you see in their seal is...

Which State has the Coolest Seal Design?

From the ones I've looked at I think I think Alaska or Arkansas are the coolest. I think my home State of Michigan is probably one the lamest.

I passed, now where to get PE rubber stamp?

I'm in Michigan and I beleive they allow either. Obviously I know it's a personal preference but I was kind of wondering what others in my situation preferred (i.e. not going to be stamping a bunch of drawings and could chose either a stamp or embosser).

    Passing Rates For Oct-Only Exams

That data doesn't publicly exist. Listen, I'm not trying to get into a pissing match with you or prove that my PE-ness is bigger than your potential PE-ness or anything like that. I was simple pointing out that you generalization that "All most all passing rates went down" was incorrect. As...

    Passing Rates For Oct-Only Exams

The PPI numbers are from NCEES. I don't know where they would get them from if they aren't from NCEES. The advantage of the PPI passing rates page is that they give historical data. Lets take the ME exam for example. I took the average of the historical passing rates for the ME exam dating...

I passed, now where to get PE rubber stamp?

In addition in where to get the seal what kind of seal is recommended? I work for a utility and am a ME so I really don't see myself using it every day to stamp a stack of drawings. I was thinking embosser but everyone else at work has a stamp. I think it's due to cost. What do you guys...

    Passing Rates For Oct-Only Exams

While what you say seems to be true for the Group II exams it isn't true for the Group I exams. I took the passing rates for each of the Group I exams from 2002-2010 (according the PPI website) and averaged them and then compared them to the Oct 2010 results. All Group I exam passing rates are...

    Passing Rates For Oct-Only Exams

Where did you get this data. the only place that I know of that breaks it down like that is the PPI website but it doesn't appear to be updated yet. I'd like to see the number for the mechanical exams myself to compare the exam I just passed to previous administrations of the exam. Edit...
