    PE Power New CBT Exam

Passed! It seems the "Wednesday at 10AM ET" results rumor is correct for the CBT exams. Shoutout to @justin-hawaii for his review guide and practice exams, as well as @Zach Stone, P.E. for his practice exam. I believe these were the two best resources I used to prepare for the exam this year...

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Sounds like a good time! I agree with you for the most part. Yet I feel like it's beneficial to be able to see how you performed if you failed, to some degree. For instance, the first time I took the test last year, I was very unprepared and didn't really know what to expect. My diagnostic...

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

For sure. We'll never know exactly how the scoring works. My assertion was simply that "throwing out of questions" for scoring purposes is a different thing entirely from the pre-test questions and those not being included in the diagnostic reports for CBT exams. For instance, if I took a CBT...

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

The point was that: - Pen and paper exam diagnostics include all questions on the test, none deducted. - CBT exam diagnostics deduct the pre-test questions. The number of deducted pre-test questions might very well change.

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Agreed entirely! We were discussing the NCEES diagnostics for the different types of exams, not trying to deduce anything about the pre-test questions. The pen and paper exam diagnostics include all 80 questions, regardless of whether or not all of them were used to provide a "score." The CBT...

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

We're just discussing the topic because it's a new concept to those of us who've just transitioned to CBT exams. I don't think anyone in the right mind would do this when taking an exam.

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Yes, you're agreeing with me. On the CBT Exams, the diagnostic doesn't show the pre-test questions as scored. Just like the Mechanical PE diagnostic we were shown that shows 70 questions, not 80. The test that I failed last year was pen and paper, and all 80 questions were shown in my...

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

This is true, but there still is no way to confirm that questions were actually thrown out. The failed Mechanical CBT exam diagnostic we were shown on another thread had the scoring shown out of 70, so that did factor in the deduction of pre-test questions.  Missouri.

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I failed the Oct 2019 Power exam (pen and paper) and my diagnostic report shows my score out of 80, so it doesn't appear that any questions were thrown out. They may have just given you the point for the question that may have been erroneous.

@LyceeFruit PE Thanks for clarifying! Based on that text, I agree with your take on it. Now I'm just hoping the ones where I thought "What is this, I've never seen anything like this" were pre-test questions, lol.

October 2020 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I'm pretty sure that's just speculation. Someone shared their diagnostic from a failed Mechanical CBT exam and this was the case, but it doesn't mean it was the case for the Power CBT exam. (I took the Power CBT exam last Tuesday)

I didn't receive an additional email from them. Just showed up on the scheduled day. (Took it on Tuesday, 12/1)

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

This was me the first post-exam week. Week two has been much better, I absolutely no longer care enough to think about the exam problems. If I'm back at it in 2020, it is what it is!

    October 2019 P.E. ELECTRICAL POWER

I agree that I don't believe the duplicated question was difficult - I actually see it as "oh cool, I got that correct twice." But I understand, and am on the side of the majority in here - I think purposely asking a question twice is a bit disingenuous. And I truly question/doubt that it was a...
