January 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I would have preferred that over having to leave because I forgot my phone was in my bag. That truly sucks!

Recommend an effective FULL Mechanical PE Review Course for Thermal and Fluids please

I would suggest school of PE. I took the HVAC and Refrigeration (note I'm a Building Automation and Controls Guy) and it was very good.

    Just Passed PMP

I think I had maybe 7 equation type questions and only two or three were actual calculations. I wouldn't worry too much about memorizing them, but I would KNOW them. That means understand what the numbers mean when you get an answer because they tested for understanding of material.

    Just Passed PMP

I studied pretty aggressively for about 3 hours Monday - Friday with an occasional Saturday for 4 hours for about 3 months. I passed with 2 needs improvements and 3 AT (Planning, Monitoring and Closing). I will say you have to answer the questions like PMI wants you to, not how YOU think they...

    Just Passed PMP

I passed the PMP December 30th right before the change (Thank God). While it was tough, I still think the PE was much harder. I took a course through Edumind and read the PMBOK 6th edition which is boring for sure but it worked. Good luck!

    Steam problems

Have you completely shut the valve? Steam is not linear (as I'm sure you know). I would shut the valve all the way and see if you get better control. If you do, treat the damper and valve as 1/3 (damper) and 2/3 valve to maintain a coil leaving temperature of 50 degF at all times. If the control...

Advice on which depth to take

My degree is ME but I've spent my career on the HVAC Controls side of things so I decided to take the HVAC depth rather then the Controls exam because for one I didn't want to wait to take the exam in October of each year and I thought I had enough surface level knowledge of HVAC to pass the...

Wait Until After Work to Look at Results?

I checked mine religiously until the email popped up. Then I sat there for like 5 minutes contemplating whether to open until I finally said "F" it! Luckily I was successful and walked around the office like a BOSS! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

    Coefficient of Drag Problem

My MERM IS at work so please forgive me for not having the page number available. But the graph is in the MERM (Reynolds Number to Coefficient of Drag). In order to calculate you need the Drag Force against the fluid, fluid velocity, face area of object to fluid and mass density of the fluid...

    Having Difficulty with PE Studying

I took the SOPE for Mechanical HVAC and had the same issue you are having. What I found was that I needed to have read the material BEFORE the class so that I was prepared to follow the lecture and work the problems. My suggestion is to try to get ahead and do the problems before the class so...

How to deal with PE test anxiety?

My Grandmother (First Black RN for Riverside Hospitals in Columbus, O.) always said "No test is hard if you are prepared" Know and understand the material and you'll be fine. Nothing beats anxiety then answering a bunch of questions correctly and getting on a roll. Good luck!
