    Calculator type

I brought two TI-30XIIS calculators (one new one, and one that I used on the FE exam). These cost about $8 during back to school sales. A fancy expensive calculator will not help you. The math on the exam is pretty basic.

transportation PE review books for sale

I have two transportation books for sale on amazon: NCEES sample questions for the transportation exam, and the Transportation Depth manual sold by PPI (same company that sells the CERM). Both are great books and have great karma :) my friend used them and passed on his first attempt...

Youngest Person to get PE License?

If I had passed I would have been licensed at 25+10 months. I skipped senior year of high school and went to college after 11th grade, and then got accepted to take the exam with just barely 4 years of experience. But I didn't pass so hopefully I'll be licensed at 26! Not sure how anyone who's...

Critique my Reference and practice problem list

When I took the exam I found that I really only used the CERM, and I looked up one or two answers in another textbook. And you need to know where to find the information you need because you really don't have time to search for information very much (hard to believe but your 6 minutes per...

Which afternoon module for the Civil PE is easiest?

I actually don't know anyone who has failed the WR/Env depth exam (I used to work for a pretty big company and for every test usually 1-2 people at least were taking WR/Env), but I do know plenty of people who have failed construction, geotech and structural, some more than once. Sounds like you...

Which Exam - Mechanical or Civil

Didn't you have to decide in September which exam you're taking? Hopefully you have a copy of the CERM if you stuck with civil.

    April 2012 Pass Rates

I was part of the panel that developed the cut score for a future FE exam, so I am familiar with how they develop the cut score for exams (the score you need to pass). It is based on the difficulty of the actual questions, so depending on what specific questions are on the exam and how each...

NYS PE Application --How long should I expect to wait to hear if I have been accepted to take the exam?

I submitted mine like 2 days before it was due in NY, and I received the letter 2 weeks later, so it took them about 10 days.

PA Board Refusing to Let Me Sit

When I took the EIT exam in New York in 2008, they had education requirements to meet before anyone could even sit for that exam (you had to be in an engineering program and have completed a certain number of credits). Was that not the case in 2005? Then it seems like you may need to take the...
