    Outsiders Just Don't Understand

People where I work now think I'm in an entirely different department - PE stands for Process Engineer at my company, not Professional Engineer. A far cry from the compliance role I'm currently in. :)

How much have you spent total for the PE?

I'm guessing I threw down around 2k for the fees, books, and review class. Thank God I passed on the first try!

    Oct. vs April Exam

I wanted to cry with relief when I got my pass notice - just the thought that I wouldn't have to hole up in my bonus room again for 12 straight weeks without seeing my family was enough to make me practically lose it. I started shrieking when I saw the results at work and my coworker ran over...

I was notified this morning that I passed PE exam. Can I put 'P.E.' title on my signature block now?

At least some states go ahead and issue you a number right away, without having to wait for a certificate ceremony. I know NC is like that. That makes it easy.

    Thanks Everybody

I agree - just having an idea of which books to buy was a HUGE help in the process!

So what will you do now...

So what are everyone's plans now that they know the results? First course of action for me: steak dinner with my wonderful husband who put up with back-to-back FE and PE exams for the last year! It does make you appreciate the people who supported you. :)

    NCEES PE Pass rates

Wow - Environmental went down from 73% after the October 2010 exam to 60% after the April 2011 exam. I wonder why the big change?

    Success Strategy

I guess it depends on your study style. Personally, I hate tabs in books, except to mark very specific tables. I found they actually distracted me more during the studying process than not. I learned where to find things in the indices of each book, and that helped me a lot more. My degree...

NORTH CAROLINA RESULTS - April '11

The NCBELS website says our results will come via an email from NCEES. We can then log in to NCEES to see our results. I expect they will post the license numbers, but not until after NCEES releases the results to us. Check out the link: http://ncbels.org/ 05/11/11 - 2011 Exam Results...

What Can you do in 35 Days?

Let's see, in 35 days, I managed to join a gym, planted my summer garden, completed 3 new flower beds in my yard, replaced all the ignition coils in my car, and managed to find a new job. Been busy. :)

    April 2011 exam stories

I have to agree with you, particularly as it relates to practical experience. I work in manufacturing, and I have the least amount of respect for Process Engineers with PhD's compared to any other Process Engineer coming from a 4 year college. PhD's, in my experience, have a really difficult...
