CA Board released PE pass/fail statistics

43% pass rates? I been cheated. Generally, the pass percentages for the CA state exams run in the high 30's. I was planning to tell all of my friends that the pass rate was much lower. Now I will be forever stigmatized as having passed the state exams during a session with high pass rates...

CA Seismic and Survey Exams RESULTS

Maybe the test isn't designed to test your ability to work equations. Maybe the board is trying to test your knowledge of what the equations mean and they are trying to test your ability to come up with a reasonable answer when supplied with an ambiguous data set. Maybe you should consider...

    CALIFORNIA - RESULTS April '11

An earlier post discussing wallet cards removed by a mod..(I hope that it wasn't you Harold). I am really impressed with my PE certificates and I like to display them in nice frames. A high end frame from Hobby Lobby did the trick for me this time. Part of this may be cultural. In FL, we are...

    CALIFORNIA - RESULTS April '11

Yeah well... It might have been August bu I bet that you received an 11x17 certificate on heavy duty parchment, replete with calligraphy and an embossed seal. I am sure that it is displayed in an expensive frame.

Mine showed up in FL today My FL certificate is 11x17, full of calligraphy with an embossed seal. I was surprised at the machine printed 8.5 x 11 size of the CA certificate. Oh well...I guess it doesn't really matter. Anyone have a clue as to when the pass rates will be posted?

    One More Question

Thank you..I do lots of scribbling..just trying to get a feel for what to expect The worst part about sitting for one of these tests is that you have no control over anything... BTW I thought that the amount of space for drawing in my afternoon PE booklet was marginal

    One More Question

I still dont have an answer to the previous Chapter 6 question This is my first attempt at the both the seismic and the survey exam. Is it the opinion of board members that the test booklets contain sufficient space for doing doing calculations?

    Chapter 6 henryf

I have the Spring 2010 version of the book The answer is given as 3/8 delta. 3/8 = .375 I wouldn't worry about it too much. Despite what other posters report, I have questions about several of the supplied answers. Readers would be helped by an errata.

    Chapter 6 henryf

    .375 delta...1/2 of .75 = .375

chapter 6 highway curves and volumes

You are being asked to calculate a deflection angle in terms of the central angle for a horizontal curve stakeout. The formula is: ((length along curve to point being staked)/(total length of curve)) x (central angle/2) .75L/L x delta/2 which reduces to .375 x delta While we are at it, you...
