    Nevada PE Reciprocity

Apparently PA wants the license (EIT and PE) verifications sent directly from the states where they were issued. In my case, I got my EIT in Indiana and my PE in Delaware. I just got my request form back from IN, which states I have to go online and get my own pdf of the verficiation and then...

    What occupation do engineers marry?

Same here! Throw a dollar sign in front of the number and I'm lost. Change the units to feet or psi and I'm fine.

    PE exam gotcha!

Take a wheeled suitcase for your books. I took two crates, and it was tough to lug those around. If you take a snack, take twizzlers, they're crumb-free, gives a sugar boost and isn't noisy. I agree with the above posts - take two of the same calculator, it's easier to jump to the other one if...

    "That's not my job!"

ugh. Had another one of those meetings today. Apparently in this week's episode, the structural guy was working on the wrong folder on the server the whole time. But guess who it was who had to move HER stuff to some god-forsaken place on the planet - yep. ME!! :-( I charged a whole hour for...

    "That's not my job!"

If I don't know something, I do the same thing. However, if it's a structural guy trying to get me (a mechanical) to do his job for him, I draw the line. Every Monday, we have a status meeting on this structural project. Those involved include (and I am NOT kidding): Project Manager -...

Mythbusters: Airplane on a Conveyor Belt

Oh my god (or chosen deity)! This was brought up at work today - and it was the young electricals trying to show the young mechanicals that they are the superior ones. (I don't care personally, they already have the higher ground - upstairs.) Spare me the details. I believe the true engineer...

    New Members

I took a course offered at the local Penn State branch campus. There are two guys teaching it and they were really great. We went over the NCEES sample problems (all of them for Mechanical), and they gave us some tips about solving problems and let us know where to find additional information on...

Consensus on calling ourselves PE prior to issuance of license #?

It's official. I am a PE, but because PA still asks when you got your EIT certificate on the reciprocity application, I have to wait until Sept. 2009 to become a PE in my HOME STATE!!! Arrgh! At least I got the test out of the way, and my shiny new embosser for DE will be arriving this week...

Consensus on calling ourselves PE prior to issuance of license #?

    Thanks, that makes sense. :)

Consensus on calling ourselves PE prior to issuance of license #?

So based upon the couple previous posts, because I work in Pennsylvania and earned my PE license in Delaware, I cannot use P.E. on my business cards until I get reciprocity/comity in Pennsylvania? Does that also mean I cannot use the PE designation in my email signatures since I do work for...

    PE Certificate Frames

Future exam takers - take note! To prepare for the exam, wouldn't you have to be 'comfortable' in what you are (not) wearing at the actual exam? ;)

October 2007 Exam: What you did right

The Engr_Tam Method: 1. I enrolled in a PE prep class, starting in October of the previous year. There was where I discovered the Lindenberg texts. And the guys teaching the once-per-week course gave us sample problems and all we did was work the problems and they showed us some tricks and tips...

How Much of Pay Raise after PE Certification?

All we get is $100 per month extra. But then, they were willing to pay for the prep course, the books, the application fee, test fee, and the first year's registration fee. So it's not all that bad. I think they maybe put you on a different pay scale, but I'm not sure. I'm happy with letters...
