Mechanical HVAC and Refrigeration. First time and passed! I started studying too late and had to cover a lot within a short time. I started studying after labor day and went hard-body. By the time October 29th hit I clocked in over 240 hours.
I got bogged down in the extraneous material of MERM...
MERM's treatment of HVAC is incredibly light and you would not pass the HVAC exam if you relied on that alone. 6 minutes solutions was where it was at... I was pumped when I saw a handful of child-like HVAC questions on the morning exam. That was easy money for me.
I'm not sure I would like to...
Ppl at my job who passed received their license in February. I assume all was in order. I'm banking on that because I have a side job that needs a stamp! Bam!
I passed HVAC and Refrig. first time. Studied since labor day, probably 240+ hours going hard every day of the week. I must say that I tried to solve way too many MERM problems. Spent needless time studying statics and some materials stuff early on and wasted like 2-3 weeks in the process. 6...
Okay, HVAC and Refrigeration test takers must be really smart (not likely) or the exam is easier than other exams. Both April and October of 2015 had 80+% first time-takers passing. Glad that I'm in the 80+% but it makes me wonder a little. Is the exam too easy...???

I just did. And yes was stiff-armed with the 8 to 10 weeks from date. However, I did get a glimmer of hope as they said: "we haven't heard of a date as of yet".
If I get ultra-anxious I can call back and ask: "have you head of the date results will be released?
probably won't call. We are...
Yeah would be nice to hear another HVAC opinion out there. But hell, at this point, I'm believing I'll be seeing that "P" come December. Might as well think positive.
Im thinking that my actual score will land right around the cut score if cut score is 54-56/80. Thus if I fail it wouldnt be by much and same if I pass. I'd hate to retake exam but I definitely would retake it in April because I worked to hard to give up on PE dreams that easily.
AK, I had to guess on probably 4-5 on the AM exam based on talking to my electrical friends I know I got one of the electrical questions wrong on AM. I know I may gotten 3 problems wrong on PM (includes electrical question) composite conduction problems up in air (2 of those) and then there was...
