    NCEES

SO true! I kept my pencil. They outright told us we could at my FE 4 years ago. I used that pencil all the time until it broke about a year ago. I asked for special permission to keep the pencil after the PE and no one had a problem with it. What are they going to do with the pencils...

    Status of Florida License Numbers

The letter said 8-10 weeks. Everyone in the office is saying it takes a bit longer than exam results.

Anybody got raise this year? Then how much?

We were really blessed to have a wee bit more in our bonuses this year than last year. But the bonuses are only 10% of what they used to be. We took a 50% paycut for over half the year (with the option of being laid off to collect unemployment - which would be more than any of us were making)...

    "Post Exam Survey"

What Depth Section did you take: Transporation Do you think you passed, failed, or unsure: passed What books did you use from most to least: 1. CERM 2. AASHTO Green Book 3. AASHTO Roadside Design Guide 5. HCM, MUTCD, Traffic Manual, Asphalt, Portland Cement, etc. (all used at least once...

    ITE Traffic Engineering Handbook

I borrowed this book from a coworker. I honestly can't remember if I used it or not, but I think I did - I brought all the recommended references and I believe I got at least one answer from each reference. Borrow a copy if you can. If you can answer one question correctly because you brought...

    AASHTO Roadside Design Handbook

Buy it. I guarantee that if you have it, you'll use it. And it would be a great shame to fail an exam because you didn't want to pay the extra $100. I didn't crack mine open until the day of the exam and I think I found at least a few PM answers in that book. As long as you have a general...

October 2010 - Trans. Depth Difficulty

I felt like the PM transportation part was a lot easier than the AM. I haven't ever taken a transportation class, but I felt like it was something I could teach myself - curves, speeds, etc. The geotech killed me on both parts. I work in Water Management, but I figured it would be far too...

What was your post feelings and results of the exam

I'm with you - while I didn't technically have to guess on many AM questions, I KNOW I screwed up on a lot more than I did on PM. I thought the AM was much more difficult. Particularly the geotech (although the geotech on PM was hard as well. Who are these geotech people?). I found the AM...

    FLORIDA - RESULTS

Thankfully my office reimbursed me for the hotel - which was fairly cheap and just a block away from the convention center. I was really glad I passed as I would feel horrible if they paid for everything and I failed. We had dinner at Ohana, which made the trip worthwhile.

Yeah - I took the FE there and was lucky that my table mate didn't show up. But I think they have changed the location since then. When one of my office mates took the exam, there was a fashion show going on and he said the music was insufferable.

What was your post feelings and results of the exam

I took Civil-Transportation and passed. I came out feeling fairly ok after the exam. I felt like I had personally prepared as much as I could have on my own, so if I had failed it wasn't for lack of preparation. I started casually studying a year before the exam, hoping to take it early. I...

Yeah - I made the trek to orlando, since I've heard so many horror stories about Miami. Plus, who doesn't want to have dinner in Orland after the PE?

    FAIL!

I actually passed! I felt like Transportation was primarily about knowing curves and being able to do them without thinking, and then being able to look stuff up. There was a lot of looking stuff up. I wish I had photocopied the indices of my books. But I felt there were some geotechnical...

    FAIL!

I thought about doing water resources, but caved at the last minute to transportation. I think that helped tremendously because I guarantee I would have failed if I had taken the water resources - even though that's my day job. Maybe consider other sections over the next two weeks and see if...
