All,
I passed the FE on the first try with an 84. I watched a set of free review videos available at the Texas A$M web site.

I also got a couple of FE test prep manuals one of them being the NCEES FE sample test manual and did lots...
You can make pretty good money in any of the EE fields.
Only you can answer the question about enjoyment. No field is enjoyable to all EEs nor is any unenjoyable to all.
Opportunity for advancement is really more of a function of your ability and hard work than of the field you enter.
Sorry...
I passed both the FE (electrical in the afternoon) and the Electrical/Electronics PE on the first try using a casio. However, I say the calculator is not an important factor. You should study with the calculator you will use in the test.
I'm just going to wait to get the letter to order the stamp. David, on the yahoo group said instructions on what to do next will accompany the offical letter. But I don't see any reason to wait if you really want to press.
As I understand it, there is a raw score and the score reported to us. And there is a non-linear relationship between the raw score and the reported score.
Anyone more knowlegable care to add anything?
This just in, posted on the yahoo group by David with TBPE
"...TBPE does not have the exam results yet.
All we do to "tweak" them is match the data in our database and open the portal
to let you log in.
We don't hold them for any other reason."
