The VA DPOR website does not have much information. The very little information that I've come across are from the PE license application and the PE reference form.

Are you allowed to gain field experience in Transportation but sit for the Geotechnical exam? Also, while working under a PE, is it okay if he/she has a PE from a different state only? I'm asking because I don't know how anal the licensing board can get when processing applications for the PE...

Peele1 - I actually think they're pretty vague but maybe that's just me. Well working as a field project engineering working with a project manager and site superintendent on a regular basis dealing with subcontractors, owner and the A/E. Processing submittals and what not. No design work...

I was wondering what exactly is considered as "qualifying experience" when applying for the PE licensure in the state of VA? Would working at a construction firm that has a PE at their home office be considered as "qualifying experiece" even though you don't work under his direct supervision...

Thanks wvgirl14. When I first contacted DPOR about it they said they don't give out anything and basically gave me misleading information. However, after contacting them a second time and speaking with a different person I was able to get some useful information for obtaining a letter from DPOR...

VA results went out May 24th.

Does anyone know if the state of Virginia issues a certificate or some sort of letter with your EIT number? I have seen others, in different states, indicate on their resume that they're an EIT the following way; STATE Engineer in Training Number ET123456. The only number that I have is the...

I have received a 68% overall on the FE, in the state of VA, in the past and still have not passed it.

This has probably been asked and answered by others but I wanted to find out exactly how long does one have to wait after passing the FE before being eligible for sitting for the PE exam in Virginia? I know that the waiting period differs from state to state. Thanks

I have also missed the Civil FE exam by a couple of points so I know how it feels. I'm confident that I know the material but just don't have enough time to complete all the problems (especially the morning portion). Is this the case for you as well? Also, does anybody have some sort of strategy...
