Has anyone tried to ask the board if they can use passing the SE to waive the seismic part of the PE exam?
Section 6755 makes it seem like it's maybe possible. https://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/laws/pe_act.pdf
Congrats!! I was in the class with you, we've got a good passing percent so far. I think we will be almost all of first time the passers! If that isnt reason enough to take EET..I dont know what is...
I definitely recommend this book to bridge test takers:
Seismic and Wind Forces Structural Design Examples "4th Edition" - Alan Williams
Good for the AM and the PM buildings exam.
A book I found useful was "Seismic and Wind Forces Structural Design Examples" by Alan Williams. it has an in depth chapter for each structural material for buildings.
Hi everyone,
Now that people are getting their scores back/preparing to study for the October test I wanted to discuss with you all what are the best ways to study for the PM Lateral bridge section and what realistically they would ask on the exam. I haven't done a whole lot of seismic design...
Once you have been accepted to take the SE or PE you don't have to apply again and you just sign up for the test on NCEES's website which for the fall doesn't open until mid June.

I use a basic analog watch and I set the time to 12:00 at the beginning of each exam so you know exactly how far into the 4 hours you are without thinking. Every second counts!
I am taking the SE bridge exam in a few weeks and I am a little worried about the afternoon portion. I feel confident for the Steel/Concrete superstructure questions but am worried about the "other bridge design topic" question.
How other is "other"? I see on the NCEES practice exam, the other...
