    VIRGINIA - RESULTS Oct 2010

I know the feeling as I waited three times for the results. I finally passed on the third try. One of the times I heard the disk was also bad so this seams to be a re-curring problem. The site usually goes down for about an hour when the results are loaded and they are all loaded at once unless...

Conversion from psig to ft of head

I am not sure what this is: 1 / 0.433 = 2.31 feet of head 1 of I am a Gigantic DoucheBag I know what 1 is but my advice is always carry your units through as that can work you out of a jam and avoid costly mistakes: Following the units for example: 1 ft of head x 62.4 lbs/Ft ^3 = 62.4...

    Cant do any more problems?

Working problems is like training you have to do it. I would work a problem and then work some on my quick reference system. I would also do allot of reading about a problem so the next problem was easier in that I was more organized and had a better understanding of the topic. Organization is...

Suggested tabbing method for MERM (and all PE references)

Thanks, The system worked for me and I also has a coworker use it this past spring and he passed. How did you do? Note: I sent it to Lyndeburg and got no response.

    VA Results

I am surprised they are out this early. has anyone called DPOR to see if they are all out? I have a coworker that has not received his letter yet. Congratulations to the ones that passed. For the ones that did not pass I know how you feel as I went through this twice before I passed and it is...

    VA Results

The VA results were out last year on July 6th so they should be out by then this year. They all come out at the same time in the morning. Also Lynchburg is another VA test site. Good luck.

    Response From Employer

I got a $500 award. But nothing towards my exam fees or books and no raise. I did get a new Job in another department and the PE was a factor in that decision.

    Mechanical PE

Not to get off topic here, but I have seen a few of you mention in this thread and others that "I just missed passing and got a 68, 69 or 65"...etc. This was my first time taking the exam in April, but I was just wondering what exactly that means when you say you didn't pass and got a 68. A 68...

    Mechanical PE

I passed the exam last Fall but I took the exam three times and I felt the last three exams were progressively harder starting in the Fall of 2008. For most, the morning is easier but for me (MD) it was about a wash. It seam the ones that report the morning was easy were those that took the...

    Final Days Jitters

I studied my ass off right to the end (3 times) but I would recommend taking it easy today (last day). I did take 2 days off right before the exam and just did allot of review and went over my notes. The day of the exam(s) I was not nervous and actually was calm, maybe too calm. The third time I...

I took the 2008 NCEES sample exam yesterday

I took the exam (MD) three times until I passed starting in October 2008 just when they incorporated SI units in the exam. In my opinion the exam was somewhat harder each time. The key is organization, practice and never giving up. Keep an eye on your time and do not waste your time on any one...

MERM Equations - Gravity or Gravity Constant

I agree with the above posts on the US customary vs SI units. The MERM does a good job in showing you both methods depending on what they are asking for on the exam and the exam is in both SI and US customary units. Also, it is important to follow units through on the exam as it can mess you up...

Mechanical PE HVAC failure diagnostic report

I am not sure where you are getting 65%. 40/80 = 50%. Your score (if your state gives one) will not be in %. For example, on my second attempt based on my diagnostic report I got about 59% correct. My score was a 68 not 68%. There are many reasons for the score to be higher than the % correct...

Suggested tabbing method for MERM (and all PE references)

I tabbed the shit out of my MERM and for me it was a waste of time. I ended up creating a master index for all the chapters and called it my "Quick Reference System". I put allot of time into this and it works. I have it posted on the following site...
