In Problem 21, why are they using 8 feet instead of 8.5 ft for the depth from the water table to the bottom of the soil column? Isn't the total depth 16.5 ft?

that's the depth where the first SPT value to evaluate start (15+16).

that's the depth where the first SPT value to evaluate start (15+16).
