Job Title = HVAC Engineer/Department Head
Education Required = BSME
Experience Required = 10+ years experience designing mechanical systems for the built environment. Project experience submitted for consideration should include buildings on which you have actively participated in the project from the design phase through the final construction close-out.
Experience of the design of HVAC systems and automatic temperature controls for a broad range of commercial systems
Position Description = Multi‑disciplinary engineering consulting firm is looking for an experienced Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to fill the role of Department Head for the HVAC department in their Houston, TX Office.
Work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. As the HVAC Department Head, you will organize in-house resources, develop project proposals and budgets, mentor junior staff, prepare technical reports/specifications, and contribute to the overall business development of the company.
Responsibilities include
Manage the HVAC Department, including staffing, performance management, and financial management
Act as Project Manager for a variety of project types
Directly interfacing with clients regarding all project related issues
Design of air distribution systems, hydronic systems, automatic temperature controls, etc.
Specification writing
Scheduling and selecting major equipment
Construction administration
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of building and energy codes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.
Special consideration will be given to those candidates who have successfully demonstrated innovative design experience specifically related to renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings.
P.E. License is required
LEED AP is preferred
