For wind analysis cases where a building is on an Escarpment or 2D ridge, can someone explain why K,z and K,h are not with respect to the base of the escarpment as opposed to the base of the building?
Just did a PM problem on the Schuster 3rd Edition Lateral Depth (Problem 2), and I used h = escarpment height (20') plus the building height to the roof (13') = 33', and calculated K,h based on that.
Apparently I'm only supposed to use just the building height to the roof (13')?
I'm probably double-counting the effect of these modifiers, but any help in explaining is appreciated....
