How did you study for the PE exam for the civil engineering depth portion?

I am taking the PE exam in April and taking transportation for the depth section. Any recommendations on how to study for the depth? I have most of the references (except for the AASHTO Highway Safety Manual 2010) (Do I really need that one?). There are only so many example problems for transportation in the CERM, and most of the problems in the HCM are crazy long. I am not too worried about the breadth (I'm taking school of PE for this). Just more concerned how to prepare for the depth. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!
