Our CSA farm officially opened last weekend for 'baby animal weekend'. There are two more weekends of baby animals (I WANT TO SEE THE LAMB) and then I can start buying other things. Actually found a new farm stand nearby that sells eggs at a reasonable price ($4/dozen) as well as black walnut pie!!!!

They also had ube cream puffs! But I didn't see how the flavor would translate. Waaaaaaaat? Why wouldn't people know what yuzu is? Where are you located again? Maybe I'm showing my NYC ignorance.
Mmm! Ube! I'm in Sacramento, California. It's actually a really diverse region, but the people who have money here aren't interested in...multicultural dégustation and gastronomy, even though it's available. That is the one good thing about NYC: if you want a specific-type of food, you can most likely find it. It was really funny when I went to Vegas and a lot of the restaurants I was like..."I can get this at home? Why would I got the STK when it's literally at home?"
When I lived in upstate NY, one of my fondest memories was the Finger Lakes Riesling Festival. It was the classiest way to get wasted with family and friends.
Ah! I went to that festival last year, which I think was it's last year/it's not being hosted this year for some reason! That is really close to my parent's other house in Ithaca. Gotta love that area, though they got all pissed that a downstate winery won more Riesling awards than them.
