The Callanish site is located on Isle of Lewis and are producing pharmaceutical products based on highly concentrated Omega 3 fatty acids. The site is using advanced technology and has 78 employees. Closely linked to their sister company in Norway, which has a production site in Sandefjord and sales office in Oslo, they are operating in a growing marked.

What you can expect
As a Site Manager for our site based at Callanish, Isle of Lewis, you will have the following
responsibilities:

  • for EHS, ensuring a safe working environment, compliance to corporate guidelines as well as complying with external national authorities
  • for all HR related matters and for building a strong company culture of a positive and motivated site team focused on continuous improvement
  • for all operations at the site, the management, motivation and development of the site leadership team, the assignment and execution of appropriate site KPI's,
  • to ensure that the manufacturing operation and the supply chain operation meets the business objectives in alignment with customer requirements.
  • to oversee all aspects of Operations and Financial Control including management of annual capital expenditure and the management of all fixed costs in line with annual budget, site targets & operational requirements
  • to represent the site towards business partners and local authorities
What we expect

  • You hold a degree in either engineering, production management or science.
  • You will have senior management experience within a manufacturing site; preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, knowledge of GMP working protocol would be beneficial.
  • Experience of management of / working in remote site locations and cultures would be advantageous.
  • Consequently, you will have demonstrated a strong working knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, an extensive understanding of operations, supply chain and manufacturing processes, strong working knowledge of Quality Management / Continuous Improvement Systems and experience in budget and financial planning.
  • Excellent People Management skills, with strong skills to influence and motivate multiple stakeholders, you will also have excellent leadership and team-building skills to create a strong and enthusiastic company-wide team culture.
  • You will have the tenacity to see the results of your efforts over a 3-4 year period leading to promotion to further exciting career opportunities within BASF.
