What is the acceptable straight-time labor charge on a T&M billing, given the following information?

Given Base laborer base rate = $27.00/hr

Union fringes = $11.00/hr

Contract allowed burden = 15%

Workman's comp = 10%

FUI = 4%

Contract allowed markup on labor = 20%

A) $59.41

B) $52.44

C) $45.60

D) $58.82

Anyone can solve this. Thanks.

[ (Base Rate + Fringes) x (1 + Burden %) ] x (1+ Markup %)

"Burden" is anything a company has to pay for a worker in addition to their gross compensation, or simply put it is the extra cost of having someone on your payroll.  Worker's Comp and Taxes are considered burden, and the employee will not see either of these in their compensation.  Those burdens total to 14%.  But note that you are allowed a maximum of 15% burden, so you want to use 15% in your T&M rate calculation.

So you get [ ($27/hr + $11/hr) x (1.15) ] x 1.2 = $52.44/hr

Hello,

Does anyone know the protocol for the P.E. Exam application in Georgia? This would be for the retake.

Thanks,

Hi Wingineer. You may want to create a thread in the Anything about the P.E. Exam forum, rather than as a response to this post, which is totally unrelated to your question. I see some other questions similar to yours already there.
